Sag moon

On Saturday 21st May we have the first of two full moons in Sagittarius. This one is nose-to-nose with the warrior planet Mars, at 1 degree of Sagittarius. The first and last degrees of signs always intensify the qualities of the planets in question, and this one puts a sword-like laser spotlight on communication and truth.  Full moons are always pretty intense anyway, as whatever  has been drifting along in the unconscious, is brought into the light. The combination of energies  this full moon could create some wonderful exciting sparks in communications and ideas…  or a raging inferno… depending on how we respond in the moment.

First of all, Mars… masculine, driven, assertive, passionate, impulsive and potentially aggressive, is still retrograde and because he’s a forward-moving type of chap, it’s not something he’s too fond of. Actually he can get rather edgy, frustrated, agitated or flat-out pissed off , when things don’t move as fast as they should, especially in the area of communications. Being in Sagittarius, there can also be impatience and  intolerance with people who don’t “get” things as quickly as we’d like them to, or say what we want them to say.  Fortunately, Mercury starts turning direct on the 21st, so that should  thankfully ease things a bit.

Back to the full moon – Gemini gathers information and knowledge, Sagittarius fires truth seeking missile arrows everywhere he goes.  The only thing is, the archer can be rather tactless at times, especially when he’s hanging out with warring Mars.

We all just need to be aware that our truth is not necessarily anybody else’s and to be cautious of wielding the sword of “our” truth, to all in sundry!

There is sure to be a LOT of noise and chattering going on inside and outside of our heads this full moon and we really need to filter it, before we react verbally or in writing.

If you feel triggered, try making some space for the  emotions as they arise, but don’t go into the story of them. For example: Somebody says or does  something and you suddenly feel angry/ sad/ hurt/ alone/ angry.  The knee-jerk reaction, courtesy of the Mars/ Moon conjunction is to project it onto the other person. Instead, allow yourself to notice the emotion and  let it just be there for a while,  without trying to change it. When your mind starts zooting down a myriad of rabbit holes, bring it back gently to the present moment. Emotions that are ignored or repressed will be the ones that cause the explosions or implosions this full moon.

On the days leading up to, and those directly following the 21st,  we could all do with taking 10 or 20 breaths before we blurt anything and this includes the words we say to ourselves.

Then ask…

...Is what I’m about to say absolutely true for me and for this person?

Is it necessary?

Is it kind?

In every moment we have the choice of going to war or not. Let’s not!

I still have some space on my Power Animal workshop this Saturday 21st – on Full Moon!   There are also  two exciting workshops in June. Check them out in the newsletter or email me for details
