SHAKE RATTLE AND ROLL

Are you ready to be catapulted out of the old and into the new?  Well the full moon on Saturday night/ Sunday (16th October) might help you do just that!

First of all, it’s a Super Moon, which means that it’s closer to the earth, bigger and a lot more potent than usual!

The moon is in fiery, independent, assertive, potentially war-like Aries  and is opposed by the Sun, Mercury and Jupiter in Libra.

That’s quite a polarity right there. Aries is about me… my life, my needs, my goals,  my ego, my independence. Libra is about you/ the other… it’s about relationships of all kinds; keeping the peace; justice; balance, co-operation and money!.

But here’s the kicker… the moon is closely joined (and the sun  opposed by)  rebellious, revolutionary, rule-breaker Uranus, which makes  this a  “thunder and lightning” type of full moon.  Uranus arrives unexpectedly,  just like lightning, with a large dose of the dramatic, jolting us out of any sluggishness, paralysis or boredom… shaking, rattling and rolling our cages, in order to break down old barriers and initiate radical change.

This full moon will light up exactly what we feel is limiting us or standing in the way of our independence or our personal freedom (Aries), as well as what’s really going on with our money and our relationships (Libra) It will illuminate in technicolour what we just aren’t prepared to tolerate any more and what needs to shift.

This full moon is a harbinger of change, which could be stressful, uncomfortable and possibly a little dangerous

If you like a bit of excitement and are ready to embrace change, you might find it exhilarating. She brings with her flashes of intuition, along with some highly charged energy to help blow those cobwebs away and get things moving!

More news is that Pluto and Mars  in Capricorn (which are squaring the Libra contingent)  are  moving in for a close dance, which challenges power structures of all kinds. This  is likely to be  accompanied by tensions in communications and even more skeletons emerging from  even more governmental closets.

When I was reflecting on what to write about today, the word “Equanimity” popped into my head.  Definition –  “calmness and composure, especially in a difficult situation.

Life is challenging for many of us right now, so I think Equanimity is a good  Libran quality to connect with. IF or when you are triggered by something or someone, try stepping away, breathing and counting to  ten or twenty or a hundred…. before launching into defense or attack. Ask yourself one simple question. Is it  worth going to war!  Sometimes it is, but we always have the choice.

The other word that comes up is  “surrender”. When we’ve done all we can do , sometimes we just need to let it be, do our best to stay in the present moment and wait it out.
