LIFELIGHT ASTROLOGY 2 AUGUST 2016

moon

By Michelle McClunan

Late on Tuesday night (2nd August) we have a beautifully creative, lighthearted New Moon in Leo, which, when compared to what we’ve been experiencing of late, has a buoyancy and an optimism to it.…  dare I say, perhaps even a dash of fun!

This is the perfect new moon to plant new seeds, set new intentions and start new creative endeavours. Saturn, (which I wrote about in my last blog) is in a positive flowing aspect to this moon, adding a dollop of maturity, commitment and endurance into the playful mix, ensuring that those seeds get planted properly, so that they can take root and grow.

The sign of Leo is of course symbolised by the Lion and rules the heart, courage, fun, play, romance, expression and creativity.

COURAGE

Interestingly, the root of the word courage is cor – the Latin word for heart.

For me this Lunar  month,  we’re being asked to courageously  follow our uniquely creative hearts.

  • In what ways are you completely unique?
  • If you weren’t afraid and could do anything with your life force, what would it be?
  • What’s the one thing you want to do before the end of your life?
  • What’s the one thing you want to do before the end of the year?
  • Where in your life, can you take another courageous step towards expressing your heart’s desire and your uniqueness?

CREATIVITY

I can’t tell you how many people tell me they’re not creative  I’m still shocked every single time it happens.

It’s impossible to be human and not to be creative.

It seems that a lot of people get creativity and artistic ability confused. Somebody tells us  early on that we can’t draw as well as somebody else … and boom…. What we hear is “I’m not creative”, when basically, someone has just given you their opinion on your technical artistic ability… NOT your creativity!

Have you ever heard a small child utter the words “I’m not creative” ?

I certainly haven’t! They KNOW they are!

If you think about it, our lives are a continual process of creativity… from selecting ingredients for a meal,  hunting down that perfect shirt or dress, to raising our children, choosing a hairstyle, negotiating our relationships, planning our holidays, nurturing others, picking out furniture, and arranging our home and work places…. And everything else too!

For me, creativity is our relationship with and connection to, the Supreme Source of Life and how we shine our unique light into the world.

CREATING OUR REALITY

Right now, you might be creatively imagining or visualising what you’re going to have for dinner, or  the things you need to do when you finish reading this. Maybe you’re wondering how you might or might not be able to pay your bills at the end of the month, or what’s going to happen during or after the elections.

We constantly have stories swirling around in our heads. In fact, they probably have the potential to be Pulitzer prize winners if we wrote them all down.  Our imaginations are rich and  infinite and can work for us or against us.

At the end of the day, the stories we tell ourselves today are creating tomorrow’s reality – whether they’re negative or positive.

A COURAGEOUS COMMITMENT

Here’s something for you to try.  Just for today, make a courageous commitment to yourself not to judge anybody, including yourself… or to complain about anything at all. If you do find yourself about to judge or complain, take a deep breath, collect your energy and affirm something more useful. If you feel better as a result,  do it for another day and another.

This is a really quick way to become more conscious of what kind of reality we are creating in this moment.

SHOOT THOSE ARROWS

Mars the planet of action and activity, finally leaves the  deep waters of Scorpio later today, where it’s been on and off since January. During its journey there, a lot has surfaced, been transmuted and released  globally and personally.  The floods last week  in South Africa may have been part of a massive clearing.

Now that its finally moving into the sign of Sagittarius, the far-seeing archer, we should be able to start viewing things from a higher perspective and  shoot those arrows in the direction of our hearts desires.

In Life and Light

Lifelight Astrology Update – Full moon in Pisces 9 September

Lifelight Astrology Update – Full moon in Pisces 9 September

Be gentle

Energies peak toady, with the last of the Super Moons this year –  in ultra-sensitive Pisces. This means that she is opposite the sun, who is in “no-nonsense, practical, get it done” Virgo. The polarity and possible conflict that is being highlighted is that of surrender and control.

Always at full moon, we have a  giant spotlight, shining down and within, exposing  everything as it is – which makes it hard to run and hide. This one has been  stirring up strong feelings for a few days now and will continue to do so for a few more, so don’t be surprised if the waterworks are close to the surface. If they are, it’s ok – let em flow!  A Pisces Full moon always increases our sensitivity to pain, (our own and others) and to the world as a whole. We basically feel more connected and therefore feel the suffering more.

This time, Chiron, the wounded healer has joined the party, uniting with the moon, opposing the sun and squaring the  teacher, Saturn. This means that old deep feelings of insecurity, separation, abandonment, not being good enough and soul loneliness may be coming up. We’re being encouraged to be very gentle with ourselves and others, whilst we stay in a vulnerable open hearted place, tempting as it may be to skedaddle away, put a lid on it, get busy or drown our sorrows.

This is the time to stay with whatever comes up and see if you can be the observer, ask “Who is it that is insecure, sad, lonely?”  …. And ….“Who is it that is noticing that I’m insecure, sad, lonely”  etc? And then stay there, breathe, soften and allow the wave move through you. “Be truthful, gentle and fearless” Gandhi

This is a powerful time to do whatever it is that reconnects you spiritually… that opens you up to  the mysterious flow of life.  Be aware of sudden intuitive flashes, dreams and symbols.  The next two weeks carries great potential to bring about yet another layer of healing and integration.

With gentleness

Lifelight Astrology – Full Moon 14th February – Lets Fall in Love

love water

Lets fall in love

Well, Valentines Day’s  here, perfectly coinciding with a beautiful full moon in Leo, which just happens to be in the sign of romance, celebration and grand gesture. Leo also happens to rule the heart and connects us to our deepest desires, creativity and inner light.

So… it’s a wonderful time to give and receive love – as we’ve been reminded of for weeks at every turn – it’s like a heart / rose / cuddly toy hurricane out there!  But setting the consumerism aside, let’s use this opportunity to connect with the real symbolism of it all.

Let us ask ourselves this Full Moon… this Valentines Day…

  • What is love…. Actually?
  • Is Love a verb?
  • Is Love a vibration? – see the shape the word love makes on water above – Dr Emoto
  • What does the commandment – “Love one another” really mean
  • Who do you love?
  • How do you love?
  • How unconditional is your love?

The way I see it, pure unconditional love is not a sentiment. It  is the most powerful vibration, force, energy, in the entire Universe and it emanates from the human heart.

In my experience when we’re able to bring ourselves into the present moment and drop into our hearts (fall in love)  we feel truly connected and at peace, regardless of what’s happening “out there”.  Automatically, we start to flow and vibrate with, rather than against everything else.  (Click  here for details on my next Love Mandala workshop).  It’s when we’re disconnected from our hearts, that we separate ourselves, resist what is and experience suffering.

Speaking of suffering, it might not be all gorgeous red roses for some of us at the moment. Good Old Saturn’s firmly plonked himself in Scorpio and is squaring our beautiful romantic Full Moon! That means there’s a good chance that some of our deepest issues and perceptions about love (or lack thereof) may be stirred up in the next few days. Those tough old thorns might very well poke through the surface and demand attention, like hungry children … lack of self worth,  abandonment, rejection, aloneness, fear, doubt…

All we can do is invite them in with kindness and ask what they have to teach (Saturn is the teacher, after all).  Ask yourself how you can show your hungry child some love. What is the most loving thing you can do for you? It might be to simply get some rest. Lots of us are feeling more tired than normal. When you consider that the Sun represents our physical Vitality and  Saturn represents limitation, it figures that the combination will be Limited vitality / energy … so take some time to chill and kick back a bit.

And ask yourself – can you love yourself and others, thorns and all; can you can accept yourself, others and your life situation as it is right now… in this moment?

Love is such a big word, such a big subject, that I’ve decided to dedicate a whole month to it. Starting tomorrow, I will do my best to post something interesting on Love on my Facebook page every day – It would be wonderful if you would participate, share and help to lift our personal and planetary vibration to one of Love.

Let’s fall in love this month

When we live in the vibration of love, we express compassion, forgiveness, tolerance, respect, generosity, joy, peace—all that inspires, empowers and enhances life.

This Valentine’s day,  please spread the love further than your lover/husband/wife. Let the other people in your life know they are loved and appreciated too.

With love

Michelle

LIFE LIGHT ASTROLOGY UPDATE – 10th November 2013

Mature feminineSunday’s first Quarter moon has set the scene for an interesting week. First of all, most of you will be pleased to know that Mercury will turn direct on Tuesday, so computer and communication glitches should start easing up. However there’s still some dreaminess and possible confusion around  for most of the week, so be careful when making decisions or signing contracts. Use the creative energy to make or appreciate art, music, dance,  or to spend time in nature, connecting with the beauty around you, even for 5 minutes a day.

The focus this week  is firmly on the Feminine, with Venus, the planet of love, beauty and money having just entered Capricorn, where she will stay until March next year. She brings with her a level of maturity in the way we handle our relationships, our finances and whatever is valuable to us. If you have a creative outlet which you enjoy, you may feel called upon to spend more time with it and take it more seriously. This earthy Venus also encourages us to find and feel gratitude in our everyday lives, to roll up our sleeves and commit to attending to the present moment, with as much grace as possible.

In my December Art & Soul workshop – we’ll be looking back on the past year and creating a beautiful Gratitude Collage. Click here for more details

As Venus joins Pluto on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, she invites us to  consciously excavate whatever’s been left unattended to in our relationships, financial affairs, or our creativity, without being drawn into the drama of the story, which will be very tempting. Make a commitment to yourself to bring anything you’ve been ignoring or putting off, out into the open.

Those financial worries and woes? – sit down and face them.

Whatever you’ve been procrastinating about – just do it.

The relationship issue that’s been niggling you? Have a heart-to-heart discussion with the person. This is a powerful opportunity to heal our relationships on a deeper level than before.

Any gremlins left unattended and ignored are likely to come bubbling, full of fire and brimstone, to the surface anyway, so we might as well lift the lid gently before that happens.

All in all, this is a great week to embrace the mature, grounded feminine side of yourself, to  show up, feel what you feel and deal with what needs to be dealt with, one step at a time… mountain goat style.

LIFELIGHT ASTROLOGY NOVEMBER 2013

LIFELIGHT ASTROLOGY NOVEMBER 2013

Darum… darum…. darum…

The time has come all ye fellow humans to take off those rose coloured specs and replace them with a big old magnifying glass, a torch, some sturdy gumboots and a raincoat as we embark on a serious investigation… leaving no stone un-turned until we have unearthed the honest to God, pure, unbridled, unvarnished truth about ourselves and the role we are playing here on Planet Earth.

There’s SO much going down right now that I’ve roped in good ol Professor Clouseau, the Pink Panther and Venus in Sagittarius, to help us move through it with a sense of adventure, lightness and humour. If you’re too young to know who they are, ask Mr Google – he’ll come to your aide.

As we travel between the tunnel of two eclipses, most of us are experiencing some discomfort to put it mildly – Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, weary of the same old thing happening over and over again, or just plain out of sorts, its ok… you’re not alone and it’s all meant to be… really!

We are in the birth canal and are starting to feel labour pains before the birthing on the 3rd November, with the mother of all eclipses. Present in the delivery room will be the Sun and Moon, Saturn, Mercury Retrograde and the North Node – all in intense, investigative, deeply transformational, watery, emotional  Scorpio ( I did say you needed gumboots and a raincoat). Add the exact Uranus Pluto square to the mix and we have some pretty potent revolutionary energy right there.

As I see it, in plain English, this eclipse marks a potentially huge turning point, a breaking through of awareness, both personally and globally. It symbolises the death of old outworn patriarchal power structures, so that the new can be reborn into something more intelligent, evolved, balanced and connected. The seed that was planted in the sixties is now starting to germinate with the re-emergence of the feminine and the maturing of the masculine.

I said “potentially” because in order to experience or be a part of any transformation,  we have to show up and actively participate. What that means is that we need to take full ownership of being the change we want to see in the world and in order to do that, we first need to find out what needs changing, which is where Professor comes in. Herewith a handy Clouseau style guide into our very own personal thriller.

Question everything

Mount a serious no-holds-barred investigation into every aspect of your life. Of particular significance will be the areas where 11 degrees  Scorpio and Taurus lie.  That’s where you’ll find some potent clues and keys to open the doors of transformation. If you don’t know where that is or what I’m talking about, it might be time to have your chart done or updated.

Some examples of questions to ask:

    • What am I feeling in my body at any given moment?
    • Whose rules am I living by and are they serving me and anyone else?
    • Have my belief system or my values changed and how?
    • Do they need to?
    • What or who pulls me back, makes me feel shackled, heavy or small?
    • What or who makes me feel free, light and empowered?
    • Where am I stuck?
    • What can I let go of – be it false beliefs, negative reactions, people or clutter
    • If I died tomorrow, what would I regret?
    • What do I need help with and who can I ask?
    • What can I do differently, today to help myself and our planet?
    • How can I serve or nurture others?
    • How can I lift my vibration?

It is no mistake that you are here at this moment in time and it is never too late. My mom has reached the ripe old age of 90 and I can honestly say that as frail as she is physically, she has never been stronger emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Far from feeling unimportant she sees herself as performing an important role in sending light and spreading kindness to others. You too, are a unique and vital thread in the tapestry of life and everything you say and do does make a difference!

Look for clues

    • Surveillance – keep watch of how other people (partners, bosses, friends, children and authority figures, drivers, call centre staff etc)  trigger reactions in you. Notice them, and then turn the spotlight onto yourself and ask where in your life you do exactly the same thing. Even if you can’t see it at first, shine it around a bit and you’re sure to find something.  Eg:  “Bloggs is just so lazy, it’s driving me crazy” – Immediately… there and then, ask yourself where in your life you drive yourself crazy by being lazy. Or, “The Government / powers-that-be need to wake up and sort things out” – where do I need to wake up and sort things out? You get the drift…When you find something, see if you can chuckle at yourself, rather than beat yourself up.
    • Be on the lookout for sensations in your body – these can be anything from feeling like a horse has kicked you in the solar plexus, to tears welling up in your eyes when something has touched you deeply, to delicious goose bumps when you  know you’ve stumbled upon grace or unearthed a truth.
    • Watch for synchronicities – even if they seem irrelevant. I’ll give you an example of a recent one of mine (shared only days later by one of my soul sisters)  – I jumped into my car the other day and it was as dead as a dodo… nada… not even a glimmer of life. After contemplating my situation for a few minutes, I got out the car and roped some unsuspecting security guys into giving  me a push and she started. I drove to the closest garage, where they told me that my battery was kaput and kindly lent me one until they could get a replacement. This little event held such lessons for me. First of all, my own internal battery has been feeling flat lately and secondly I realised I need to sometimes ask for help.  I’ve also had a whole lot of un with blocked drains and flooded driveways in the past while, which have served to provide more clues as to what’s out of whack.  Moments after I had the pipes cleared, my energy lifted… go figure!

Take action

This is the time for us to connect with our innate wisdom (feminine) so that we can be guided how to actively and maturely participate (masculine) in transformation of ourselves and our planet.  It’s so important that during this time of confusion and fear, we don’t freeze like deer in the headlights, but rather dive in and do what needs to be done to change what needs to be changed.

Check out Russel Brand’s recent interview on.  You might not agree with him or even like him and he might not know all the answers, but he’s being a catalyst and is prompting us to ask questions we might not normally ask, which is what Scorpio is all about.

We’re being challenged to be revolutionary, to step beyond our comfort zones, take complete responsibility for our lives, for the impact we have on planet earth, for how we treat others, our thoughts, our reactions, the energy we project into the world… and to take it up a notch, to a new level of maturity. Basically we need to grow up, step beyond self doubt and fear and take action. Imagine if we lived our lives afraid of nothing, viewing every thing that happens in our world as an opportunity to change and grow… Imagine if, when in the soul state, you selected each and every person and situation in your life and elected to live during these times in order to help your soul evolve. With that viewpoint, there can be no blame and no victim-hood. The only thing is the question – how am I growing from this or what is it teaching me?

“Transformation happens when you dare to be awakened to greater heights. When you stay open, no matter what. letting each experience, especially the tough ones, strengthen you and add depth and wisdom” Oprah.

In the days leading up the eclipse, we have one of the best opportunities this year to see to our personal plumbing, by releasing whatever toxic waste or clutter we don’t need or doesn’t serve us– physically and metaphorically. Use Mercury Retrograde to reflect on any disempowering  false core beliefs, fears, habitual behaviours, and resentments that are holding you back and start releasing them…. one by one. Writing them down and burning them would be a powerful ritual to perform just before the eclipse. And then on the 3rd, as the moon starts to wax, use your newly found awareness to set new, positive steps in motion.

I still have a few places left on THE DIVINE ROMANCE workshop on the 2nd and 3rd, where we will be working with all of this.

Continuing the theme of investigation into December, I will be running a “REFLECTIONS 2013” workshop, where we’ll review the road we’ve travelled in 2013, before we go hurtling into 2014. We’ll be creating a Gratitude Collage, which is a wonderful process.

On the subject of Gratitude, if you haven’t already, please join my 26 DAYS OF GRATITUDE of Gratitude on Facebook. We’re having such fun and raising vibrations at the same time. This is one way that you can make a difference.

I leave you with some wisdom from Socrates, who was never known to mince his words. “The unexamined life is not worth living”

Please share this with anybody you feel might benefit from reading it.
