Lifelight Astrology Update – 6th January – All Aboard for 2014!

Ahoy Matey

Well Matey’s, we’re almost a week into 2014, which promises to be a  powerful, exciting and challenging voyage! As the RaRa and hype from the festive season starts to settle down, many of us are starting to face the realities and practicalities of the year ahead. There’s a chance that some of the intentions we set whilst raising our glasses might not be all that realistic or may have already seemingly fallen by the wayside… or perhaps we’re just not feeling the same verve and vigour we did a week ago…?

It’s  ok … and it’s not too late. The moon is still waxing until 16th January, so we have ten days to reassess our intentions for the month and the year ahead and to prepare ourselves for our annual voyage. To provide us with some oomph and initiative, our Lunar Mother moves into Aries late on Monday evening and on Wednesday forms a square to the sun, a lunar phase often referred to as a “crisis of action”. This is when we realise that our dreams and intentions are only going to happen if we have some kind of plan and actually put it into action and stick to it.

The Universe applauds action, not thought.

The grand cross I wrote about last week is still in play, so the energy continues to be powerful, yet potentially challenging.  Venus (the planet of love and money) joins with Mercury (communication) to assist us in facing whatever we need to in our relationships and finances. This is a good time for serious discussions with the significant people in our lives, although we need to stay centred and calm, as there may be differences of opinion or even clashes of wills.  As we look at our relationships without blinkers, some may end or need to be re-structured and others will get even stronger and more enduring.

We’re the captains of our own ships and this week we’re readying ourselves for our 2014 voyage…. Making sure we have the right people on board; checking our life-saving equipment; offloading whatever is weighing us down; setting our GPS’s for the right destinations; ensuring that our holds are well stocked, leaks are plugged and equipment is running smoothly… all ready to sail into the wild blue yonder.

If you feel that you need some help in navigating the year ahead, I’m available for astrology consultations or private coaching sessions.

My Wednesday morning Art & Soul classes resume on the 15th January.

And if you haven’t yet done one, a vision board really helps to clarify your route and is a powerful goal seeking missile – see here for details on the workshops I’ll be facilitating in January and February.

Bon voyage

Michelle

LIFELIGHT ASTROLOGY UPDATE – 17th November 2013

LIFELIGHT ASTROLOGY UPDATE – 17th November 2013

Full Moon – Grounding and Gratitude

Sunday’s Full moon in Taurus brings some much needed gentle grounding to the group of planets that are still taking up residence in intense, penetrating, and potentially challenging Scorpio.

This week, the  relationship theme continues (with ourselves and others), as we dive deeper into the watery depths of our souls, to retrieve whatever we’ve been ignoring and bring it up to the surface. This is a hugely powerful time to fix what needs to be fixed, but it can seem somewhat overwhelming (especially for air and fire signs and those lacking water in their charts).

In our physical reality on earth, we catch water in dams and tanks and then build pipes and canals to carry it to wherever it needs to go. Personally we also need to channel this intense emotional energy (water) that we may be feeling, so that it nurtures us and helps  to create positive change.  Now’s the time to construct some internal plumbing systems for ourselves.

Taurus is all about the senses, mother nature, beauty, art, food, and what is truly valuable to us. Ask yourself this full moon what it is that grounds you, makes you feel more secure, more connected, more nurtured, more balanced. Whatever that is, that’s your earthing, your channel, your medicine, so you need to take it. Don’t put it off… If it’s walking… walk, if it’s cooking….cook; if it’s making art…make art…you get the drift 🙂

In addition to that, this  week, before you start your busy day, try standing outside for a few moments… take a few deep breaths, connect with the earth, connect with the sky, connect with yourself. And then take mini pauses throughout the day. When you pour yourself a cup of tea (this works for me), put your cell phone down, walk outside, or sit down and for a few minutes, breathe, look at the beauty around you, sip and just “be”.

The earthy Venusian energy that we have access to right now can really help us commit to doing what we really want to do and to make things happen in an enduring mature way. Focus this week on what is truly valuable to you, as well as on your personal resources, other than money – your unique set of skills, your friends, home, talents and the hundreds of things each day that there are to be grateful for.

On my Facebook community page (check it out here) we’ve just completed 26 days of Gratitude (A to Z). Thanks to all who participated – it was such fun! Its a remarkable practice actually. We can only have one vibration at a time, so when we’re noticing what we’re thankful for, we aren’t mulling over what’s not working. It’s as simple as writing down what you’re grateful for every day… it takes only a couple of moments, but is potentially life changing, not to mention grounding.  “Gratitude turns what we have into enough and more” Melody Hill

Did you know that gratitude, appreciation and love are the highest vibrations? By simply expressing our gratitude, we raise our vibration and those of the people around us.

I’m running two Gratitude Collage workshops in December (more info) … its a good way to end off the year!

Research has shown that daily gratitude exercises result in higher enthusiasm, determination, alertness, optimism, energy & increase happiness levels by 25%- I can personally vouch for this.

Have a good week…. soak up that beauty.

In life and light

LIFELIGHT ASTROLOGY UPDATE – New Moon 5th October

Waking moon

The new moon on 5th October (at 2:35am) is a whopper!  New moons are  always a time to start afresh, plant,  or set intentions for whatever we want to grow in our lives. This month the focus is on the relationships we have with ourselves and others, and finding a way of bringing them into balance, at a time when things may not be all that hunky dory.  In fact, the next week could be downright tricky, as we yearn for personal freedom and yet paradoxically need to reach out more  …  complex beings that we are.

Over the next few days, be on the lookout for where and how, other people are rattling your cage or pushing your buttons? You might find that they’re showing you exactly what you need to change within yourself.  The astrology of this New Moon is literally here to shake us up, wake us out of our slumber and give us a hefty push to do things differently – personally, professionally and globally. Now is the time to reflect on what’s not working in your life and then take active steps to change it.  If you want something different, do something different…it all starts with you.

We’re constantly needing  to re-invent and re-balance ourselves, so if the old way of doing things isn’t working for you, at this “Waking Moon”,  allow your mind to leap out of its box and run free to embrace new ideas, new strategies, new birth and a new relationship with yourself.  Watch this space for planned workshops in Johannesburg and Durban around this theme

With this being relationship month, If you’ve never had a relationship astrology chart done for you and your partners/ lovers/ children,  then this is a good time to do it.  I’m offering a special on relationship readings until the end of November. I consult  face-to-face in Durban and worldwide on Skype. Contact me for more details.
