Jupiter Scorpio October 2017 to November 2018 – 5 Ways to find your buried Treasure.

JUPITER SCORPIO!  BIG news this week folks as the largest planet in our Solar system moves into Scorpio for the first time in 12 years, on 10th October.  1300 of our earths would fit into Jupiter, to give you some idea.

Astrologically, Jupiter is the bestower of gifts, planet of luck, opportunity, expansion, generosity, higher learning and is connected with man’s search for meaning and wisdom.

In Roman Mythology he was known as the King of the Gods, the Greeks referred to him as Zeus. He’s also known as the God of Thunder and he is certainly making his arrival into the WATER  sign of Scorpio known today – as I write this we are experiencing one of the biggest, loudest storms I have ever known. Zeus is definitely shakin things loose!

For the past year as Jupiter moved  through Libra, you may have experienced growth and learning through increasing your social circle, making new friends, beginning new  relationships, or attempting to find justice, balance, peace and harmony through collaboration and co-operation.

Jupiter Scorpio

When this giant of a planet enters watery, feminine, intense Scorpio, things go to a whole other level.  We can expect big change and transformation over the next few months as  Mercury, the Sun, Venus and then Mars, join Jupiter in Scorpio.

How best to navigate this planetary shift?  Well, the way I see it, Jupiter is asking us to go to a deeper place, in order to find the answers.  It is most often beneath the surface, that we find the treasure.

5 WAYS YOU CAN FIND YOUR BURIED TREASURE

  • Be even more real, open,  honest, authentic – with yourself and others.
  • Bring more intimacy into your lives – “in to me see”
  • Explore and acknowledge your secret self, those parts for you that you might hide from the world – what do they have to tell you?
  • Connect with and process your deeper emotions, even the difficult ones!
  • Ask deep, penetrating questions.
    • What is it that makes me …. (joyful, happy, sad etc)
    • What is this ………..(emotion, illness, discomfort, addiction etc ) trying to tell me?
    • What’s going on beneath the surface in my relationship – with myself, my money,  my significant others?
    • What are my deep beliefs about money?
    • How much do I really value myself?
    • What can I learn from the  situation that is presenting itself right now?
    • How honest can I be with myself and others?
    • What in my life needs to be released, so that something else can be reborn?

Lifelight Astrology April 2015 – Blood Moon

Judge break heart

April kicks off with (yet another) Eclipse on the 4th, this following the total solar eclipse two weeks ago.  This one is a Lunar Eclipse (full moon) which is activating the final Uranus Pluto Square. It is also the last in a string of four  “blood moons”, a phenomenon that has been written about a lot on the internet for the past few years.

Some people are seeing this as the shift of all shifts, some as the end of the world as we know it. Others are viewing it as the end of the age of Pisces and the real beginning of the Age of  Aquarius. Whatever it is and whatever is going to happen or not happen, nobody really knows, quite frankly. However, a lot of people are filled with the fear of the unknown and focussing on the “what ifs”.  There certainly seems to be a kind of a quickening – a growing unease with the status quo and an “it’s now or never” sense of urgency.   I have very little doubt that we are at a radical turning point in our history and can only hope that this is going to shift us into a dimension of higher consciousness.   Whatever is going to happen, we need to be very very present indeed.

In March, as the sun journeyed through Pisces, a whole lot of stuff was dredged up from the depths of our beings, either through  conscious investigation and growing awareness, or by  people and life situations, which pushed our buttons relentlessly (which may still be happening for many of you.  Whatever the trigger, we’ve been more or less forced to look deeper and ask the really big questions, from  “Am I in the right job, relationship, house, country” …to  “What is my purpose?  What is my value system… now… really? What do I stand for?  Am I living authentically? What’s really important now… at this stage of my life?”

Having asked these questions, some answers are starting to appear and now, as the sun makes his way through Aries,  it’s about integrating what we’ve found and starting to plant brand new seeds of  inspired, heart-based intention and activity.  (see below or email me for info on Inspired Intention Workshops, Law of Attraction and Tree Workshops  in April – Johannesburg and Durban)

The lunar Eclipse on the 4th April is in Libra, along with the north node of the moon, which gives us an indication of  how we can best navigate these turbulent waters and  where we are supposed to be heading as a human race.  What  we need to be focussing our attention on, is real peace, love, balance, harmony, co-operation and integration . We’re being called upon to be peaceful warriors, to take our visions and turn them into something worthwhile, whilst working with and co-operating with others.

Being in Libra, the focus is very much on relationships, but for me, this isn’t only about love relationships or the connections we have with other people. Its also about our relationship with money,  possessions, our bodies, expectations, thoughts, addictions, emotions, beliefs,  work,  home and  our planet.  Everything is connected, so we’re all in relationship with everything all the time, whether we like it or not.

And then… there’s the  most important relationship of all – the one we have with ourselves.  As the Dali Lama said, “We can never make peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves”

I read something last night that really resonated with me – right in the middle of my being:

“Every time you  judge yourself, you break your own heart” Swami Kripalu

Wow! We are past- masters at breaking our own hearts. I’m sometimes horrified at how I find myself talking to myself and how other people  talk to themselves.

Think about how often you judge yourself, beat yourself up for  making an error,  not being perfect,  saying too much or too little; for being  too emotional or too hard;  too reactive, too depressive, too loud, too thin, too fat. .. and the list goes on. Have you noticed what happens when you give someone a compliment?  How many people are able to just gracefully receive it and say “thank you?  Most of the time, we rush to demolish the kind words someone has said to us.  Why? Do we think that’s being humble?  Actually it’s  rude and disrespectful to  them and us, when you really think about it.

What if each of us started treating ourselves as we would  a precious and valued friend, child, parent or lover? How would our lives change?   What if we became the peaceful warriors that the world so desperately needs, by  starting to co-operate with ourselves?. What if we started being patient and gentle with ourselves, irrespective of our apparent “flaws”? What if, when we messed up, we focussed on nurturing ourselves, rather than beating ourselves half to death?

Here’s what I’ve been doing for some time and it’s really helped me.  When I find myself messing up… let’s say I break a plate or something. As soon as I notice the tightness in my body and the judgemental mind leaping in to tell me how clumsy I am, that I should have been more careful blah blah blah… I STOP.  At that very moment, I take myself by the hand and start gently speaking to myself as I would speak to my child.  Yes, I know… it would seem rather batty if someone was eavesdropping, but whatever!  My conversation goes along the lines of “ Its ok Sweetie. It’s just a plate. Let’s go outside and stand in the sun for a while or have a cup of tea. We can clean this up later.”  Straight away, the tightness starts to diminish and the story I would normally have told myself, ends right there, instead of ruining my day.

Every time we are able to  show up and simply love ourselves,  regardless of what’s going on,  we are actively re-programming negative core beliefs. As always, love is the answer to everything.

I read a fascinating article a few  months back, where research was done on drug- addicted rats. The rats were moved out of horrible little cages, to a wonderful Rat Park (filled with swings, rat wheels and climbing things – rat heaven I guess). Plain water was put in one container in Rat Park and water containing heroin was put in another.  Due to the happier environment, the rats started choosing the plain water, rather than the drug infused water, even though they had the choice.  Love and nurturing were the only drugs they needed.

So what I am seeing in these times, this month, is a Universal call for peace  and that peace starts within our own hearts.  Please let’s stop breaking them and start healing them –then and only then can our planet heal.

“Every time you judge yourself, you break your own heart. You stop feeding on the love that is the wellspring of your vitality.  The time has come. Your time. To live, to celebrate, and to see the goodness that you are. You, my child, are divine. You are pure. You are sublimely free. You are God in disguise, and you are always perfectly safe. Do not fight the dark, just turn on the light, and breathe into the goodness that you are.” Swami Kripalu

LIFELIGHT ASTROLOGY UPDATE – 17 September 2014

Peace

Life continually teaches us lessons, if we pay attention. Yesterday I woke up feeling more than a little rattled, for no particular reason… and as the morning wore on, it didn’t get any better. Rather than carrying on relentlessly, as I normally would,     I listened to the voice inside me and  took myself to a yoga class. The theme was Peace and I can honestly say that I walked out in a completely different place to the way I walked in. I felt more collected, more centred, much more peacful… and I noticed that I was more kindly disposed towards myself and everybody else, even taxi drivers.!

Just another reminder that it if we want the world to be a more peaceful place, it has to start within us.

This coming Sunday 21st September is World Peace day, where people around the world will take part in various activities and events centred around the theme “Peace”. Events vary from private gatherings, to public forums involving large audiences. Many thousands of people around the world will observe a minute of silence at noon (their time) to help to bring peace to our planet.

Peace Day paves the way beautifully for the Sun’s upcoming entrance on Tuesday 24th September into Libra, the sign of peace, balance and beauty.

In addition to this, Mars, the masculine planet of  war and strife,  has just moved (thankfully) from Scorpio into high minded Sagittarius, where he will remain until the end of October. This  brings with it a desire for all of us to lighten up a little,   to expand our minds and our experiences, to break free of confines and to embrace more adventure in our lives.

The most important time in your life is now

The most important person in your life is the one you’re looking at right now

The most important thing you can do in your life is what you are doing right now

The best way to prepare for the future is to be totally present now

Now is the moment that never ends. Deepak Chopra

Each one of us has a sphere of influence, where we can lead by example and raise the vibration of those around us. It might be with our family and friends, in our work, our sport or our hobby. It could be by being inspiring others in some way in our daily moment-by-moment interactions with the people who cross our paths. How would you treat the car guard who shows up each day and helps you carry your packages if he were the most important person in you life in that moment?  How would you treat yourself if you were? How would the world change if we really started living like this?

How can you make a difference… today and every day? As Mandela told us before he left.  “Sometimes it falls on a generation to be great – you can be that great generation. Let your greatness blossom.”  We are that generation and this is the time.

I’m proposing that we dedicate the whole month to Peace, rather than just one day – that we spend the next 30 days being Warriors of Peace…What can you do that will help you to find patches of Peace in your busy days or to help somebody else find them?

Who’s going to join me…?    To honour Peace month, I will be posting regular inspirations and reminders on my community Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/MichelleMcclunanCreativeSelfDiscovery

I’ll also be facilitating a Peace Mandala Workshop on 18th October, as well as two Art & Soul workshops in Johannesburg on 25th and 26th October. Email me for details

LIFELIGHT ASTROLOGY OCTOBER 2013

The Divine Romance

By Michelle McClunan

fiberdance

As usual, the Universe has been conspiring to provide me with exactly the material I need for October’s newsletter.  After a long, dry winter in Natal, I was feeling a little arid myself, tired, cranky and creatively somewhat stuck. So, I made a decision to head to Knysna for a short holiday with one of my oldest and dearest friends, on the beautiful farm she stays on. My head was shrieking at me… stay at home and “do, do, do”… but for once, I opted to listen to my heart and just  “be, be, be”.
One week later, after lots of hearty meals, afternoon snoozes, chats around cozy log fires, art making, walks in nature, a paddle down the Goukamma river, communing with donkeys, cats, dogs and other assorted flying, walking, buzzing beings, we’re both slowly starting to sense a quickening … a rustle of energy here… a flutter of excitement there… the first flush of enthusiasm… as the slightly submerged life spark slowly starts to ignite the fire of passion that resides deep within us… a little like falling in love actually. By slowing down, nurturing ourselves and allowing ourselves to “be”,  we’ve been strengthening our inner female; softening and becoming more receptive, so that she can provide her inner male with a warm, fertile place to land, penetrate and light the spark of new birth.  We’ve started to accept the differences and needs of our masculine and our feminine and to integrate the two.  Jung called this individuation, the alchemical transformation process of the personality into spiritual gold. And that is exactly what the astrology for the end of September and much of October is all about (see what I mean about the Universe conspiring?).  Mars in Leo (Driven, active, creative male energy) is at loggerheads with Venus in Scorpio (Passionate, intense, transformative female energy).  The Sun in Libra steps in to help bring about peace, harmony and balance through integration.  The New moon in Libra on 5th and the Lunar Eclipse in Aries on the 19th further reinforce the theme. The Uranus Pluto square becomes exact again at the end of October, so we will need to be as integrated and balanced as possible, to stay centred amidst ongoing personal and global change.
When the masculine and feminine within us is out of balance, you can bet your bottom Zimbabwean dollar that we’re going to project the lack of harmony we feel onto others, which can only lead to tension, aggression and conflict.  This is basically what’s happening in Western Society, which to a large degree, praises male energy and quashes the feminine. When last did someone ask you how you were really feeling on the inside? Usually the first thing we ask is what you’ve been “up” to, how much you’ve achieved and what you’ve been doing ‘out there in the world’.  And so, in an attempt to be seen in the eyes of the world as successful, we favour and strengthen the masculine and downplay the feminine. The problem is, whatever we’re oppressing, rejecting, judging or withholding has to have an effect on the opposite. Hard as we might try to keep them apart, the masculine and feminine within us can never be separated – they are woven into the very fabric that is us.Let’s look at the archetypal male and female qualities that are found within us all, so we can get an idea of what might need some tweaking. Give whatever is more active in your life 1 point and then add up either column to see which one is more dominant at the moment.

If you’re feeling stressed, anxious, brittle, filled to the brim with busyness, rational ideas, lists and strategies, but have difficulty in manifesting them into anything tangible, your inner male is probably running the show.If you’re feeling hyper emotional, heavy, lethargic, confused, stagnant or unable to move forward, your inner female is wearing the pants. What’s probably needed is a good dose of active, animating male energy to hoof her out of her sludge.
Here’s an example of how the dance can play out. We feel a pain, ache or discomfort. An awareness arises within us that we need to pause, nurture, turn inward, slow down and relax. Society and survival say “No way Jose – keep trucking – what about the rent?”  So we march on like true little soldiers… firing off a relentless stream of busy little idea sperms into the world.  If we can just push a little harder, succeed a little more, be more disciplined, more focused, then we’ll feel secure and things will be just dandy.  In the war we wage on the world, the feminine side of us gets relegated to the sidelines like ugly floral wallpaper as we continue to climb our ‘oh so important’ mountains.
And then suddenly, the earth shifts and we feel ourselves slipping … an accident, illness, retrenchment, break-up or some situation arises that more or less brings us to our knees.  We have no choice.  We stop because we have to… our thirsty souls have designed it that way.  We spend time being, nurturing, replenishing, listening, renewing and softening, so that when that little sperm cell comes a’cruisin’, it finds a soft fertile place to land. And then, it’s a lot like a love story… that first flush of romance when we feel special and cherished, we start to remember the things we once loved about ourselves; sparkling new ideas start to appear as if out of a fog; the life spark that we thought may have been lost forever starts to ignite. We start to feel capable, grounded, confident, ready to commit to this new unconditionally loving Divine Romance and dance the dance of life.
What’s the status of your inner marriage? Does your male have a nurturing place to come home to?  Do you tell each other how much you love each other or snipe at each other?  Do you appreciate your differences and love each other anyway, like you did in the beginning?  Do you still cherish you?  Are you faithful to you?  Do you buy you flowers, write you love letters, stick to the vows you make to yourself?  Is your marriage bed sacred or do you allow creepy characters to threaten its sanctity?  What if you were to fall in love with all of you again and commit to yourself in Holy Matrimony?
