The Call of the Wild- Full moon 29th May

artemis

By Michelle McClunan

Full moon 29th May is in adventurous Sagittarius and promises to help to release us from the daily grind and reconnect us with our sense of adventure. This powerfully positive full moon has the potential to shine a much needed light at the end of what might seem like a very long tunnel for some of us.  If you’ve been feeling stuck, she will help to liberate you. If you’ve been seeing things in a pessimistic light, she will show you how to see them from a higher, more optimistic perspective, provided you’re willing.  Being in a beautiful trine to the North Node of the moon, she will also help you to align with your highest potential and your unique expression.

Let me know if you’d like to explore this in a session – I’m booking now for the second week of June.

Let’s get to know Sagittarius a bit more – Most often, this sign is associated with the  centaur –  / half man/ half beast,  connected  both to earthly and higher realms and who carries a bow and arrow, representing his seeking of higher purpose, adventure and abundance.

The fiery archer  can also be associated with the free spirited Greek Goddess Artemis, who lived alone in the wilds and relied entirely on her intuition and instincts for survival.  As an archetype, she  embodies the fiery, independent, untamed one that lives inside all of us.

Unfortunately, living as we do in modern society, many of us have lost touch with our wild side, just as we’ve all but severed  our connection to the phases of the moon, the sea’s tides and to our own internal rhythms. As we spend much of our lives striving to pay the bills, raise the kids, tend to our health, relationships , homes and businesses,  gazing at electronic screens and surrounded by technology, we largely ignore the wild one – the one who whispers  “There is another way – there is more!”  –  that is, until she / he comes hammering on the door and all hell breaks loose.

What if, just for a little while, you allowed Artemis to take you by the hand and lead you to the untamed part of your psyche…  that part of you who yearns to be free, unfettered… expansive… limitless?

Artemis has much to tell us about how we can liberate ourselves from the prisons we’ve erected for ourselves, both in our minds and in our external circumstances.

What if, just for a few moments,  you allowed yourself to blue-sky dream… to imagine the life you would want for yourself, if there was nothing holding you back.

What if you then asked yourself  whether there was some way  that you could bring yourself closer to this un-lived life?

What if you asked yourself what you need to liberate yourself from,  in order to move further  in that direction. Perhaps it’s  external – an unfulfilling living situation, a soulless job or a damaging relationship or maybe its more internal – an old habitual pattern, a way of thinking or acting that doesn’t serve you any longer.

If you really, really want to do something, but you’re too scared of what you might lose, you might ask yourself how you would feel if you saw it as an adventure, rather than a life-long commitment.  Take it from me – it changes everything when you re-frame this one!

What if, this Full Moon, you do something that expands you, that lifts you up, that makes you relish  the largess of life.  Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the biggest planet in our solar system, who always encourages us to live our lives more fully. When I think of Jupiter, I think of the laughing Buddha, I think of breaking bread with friends at a table laden with delicious food, flowers and wine, jesters, clowns, magic, travelling to exciting new places, being outrageous, feeling the wind in your hair, diving into an ocean, riding a horse in the countryside, bathing in the moonlight, making music, dancing like nobody’s watching – I think of living, growing and expanding.

Some time ago I wrote in my journal…

What if…. there is nothing else I have to achieve… nobody I have to please, nothing I have to do any better or any more perfectly… What if… I was complete right now… if I could accept and embrace myself as I am … this moment”?

What if?

When I read those words, I feel expansive. I feel relieved. I feel free.

When I feel free, I AM free.

The reality is that when we let go of the need to control and scheme and analyse everything, even for short periods, we actually re-wire our brains and redesign our physiology. So… when we’re having fun or relaxing, or even visualising having fun and relaxing, we’re actually healing ourselves and our lives.

What if, you allowed yourself to embrace the wild one (even for short periods or even in your imagination)  and  in so doing, released yourself from the prison of  responsibilities, concerns and burdens for a while?

What if you embraced your untamed  side?

What if you bestowed upon yourself the luxury of spending some time doing the things or having the experiences that give you a sense of freedom and expansiveness?

This is my invitation to you… just for a while…. And if it works for you, maybe for EVER!

In life, life and wildness

Lifelight Astrology 5th June – New Moon

moon girl hooked

Anyone feeling a bit spun out?  Wondering what on earth is going on out there?

Well, I’m going to do my best to explain it from an astrological perspective, as I see it.

For a while now, we’ve had a number of planets in a square alignment called a Grand Cross.  It’s been around for about a week and will last until the 13th June.

New moon is on the 5th June, when the Sun and Moon are joined by Venus in Gemini,  focusing the spotlight on  communication, thoughts and information.

Opposing this bunch is Saturn and squaring them  are Jupiter, Neptune and the nodes. Here is the chart, for those of you who might be interested.

SFPage
With a few other alignments and retrograde planets thrown into the mix, many people are struggling right now and the common theme seems to be, that the more we push and strive and fight, the less things seem to be moving forward!

Anybody keen on joining me on a desert island somewhere?

But for now… back to the square …Cast your mind  for a moment to a boxing ring. Ever wondered why it’s called a boxing ring and not a square?

Well I have, so I looked it up. Apparently, the ring refers to the small circle in the centre of the fight area, where the boxers meet at the start of each round.  This is then surrounded by the square.

Have fun with this. Imagine yourself as a boxer entering  the ring and walking to your corner,   all primed, pumped and full of good intentions, ready to slay your opponent and thrill the audience. You put your head down for a millisecond and the next thing you know, you’re unceremoniously lifted up and flung into the corner, compliments of an early attack by  your opponent. You have no choice other than to fight back, lest you be pummeled into the ground,  which seems to work. Then, just as you’re catching your breath,  you’re  dragged by your hair to the third corner by an unseen wildcard opponent, who has decided to join the fray.  The two of you scramble on the floor, throwing wild punches hither and thither. One lands and your opponent is briefly stilled. Then, just when you think you’re in the clear, you receive an almighty punch from behind, taking the wind out of your rather deflated sails and you find yourself being hauled  around the square by yet another unexpected opponent.  At this point, you’re bloody and confused,  perhaps even a bit dim-witted and your self-confidence is in the dustbin, as the crowd’s boo’s fill the arena.

And then it starts again.

I liken the opponents in this story to the incessant and sometimes brutal noise inside our heads and the constant barrage of busyness and information that bombards us day and night. The more we allow them to enter, unchecked, the further we move away from the circle, from the centre of who we are, from the soul… the heart… and the more we spin out.

We can so very easily can get taken out by our internal dialogue and by the stuff that we’re feeding ourselves on a daily basis.

Unless…

We lift ourselves out of  and above the square or take ourselves to the centre of it– where we are able to get perspective on our thoughts and on the information we are consuming.

We all know the saying “Your thoughts create your reality” But how does it actually work? Well, this is what science says.  We generate an electro-magnetic field of attraction or repulsion with every single thought we have, through the release of hormones and chemicals known as peptides.

Our thoughts travel through positive/negative receptors in every cell of our body and fire sequences in the neuro-net passages of our brains. Our unconscious thoughts, which  operate below our conscious awareness, also hold great power over our lives, as they continually fire the peptide messengers that unconsciously drive our choices.

When we’re not achieving self mastery in our lives, there is a separation between our unconscious thoughts that are driving our choices, and the conscious thoughts of our desire.

So how do we bridge this divide? By slowing our brain waves down, through creative processes, mindfulness, meditation, quiet contemplation, or time spent in nature… or all of these. Each time we do this, we disconnect from our fearful limited thoughts and form new pathways!

All the more reason to find those quiet moments in the whirlpool of life.

Be sure in the next few weeks (and forever) to pause during the day and check in with your inner dialogue, with the  sensations in your body and with the emotions you are feeling. It only takes a few minutes.

Externally, assess what you’re consuming on a daily basis. Is your information diet rich in doom and gloom and are you engaging in situations  which bring your vibration up or  down and can you make a different choice?

Saturn in Sagittarius (the wise teacher) which is opposing this new moon, is challenging us to  step away and see the bigger picture. Jupiter in Virgo is asking that we bring routine into our lives, in order to help us do that.  Neptune in Pisces is there to suggest that the way we can stop the spinning is to bring ourselves into the centre and connect at a deeper level. The king of  the ocean also  reminds us to ask for help from other dimensions when we need it and stop trying to carry the load all on our own.

This new moon, see if you can have a day without consuming any outside information – no reading, no time on social media, no googling, no TV. Remember the days before cell phones, tablets and computers, when we used to be able to completely unplug for a full day or even a weekend? Aaaah…let’s go back there for a while!

What might your soul tell you if you dialed down the noise?

My two workshops this month on the 4th and 25th  are all about connecting with our inner dialogue. There’s still space if you’d like to join us – details below. If you’d like an astrology reading or a private  coaching  session with me, I can help you to investigate what your  inner dialogue is. Once you know, you’re far better equipped to re-write the story.

Please take a few moments NOW …before you do anything else to listen to some of the most profound  words ever written (in my opinion), regarding the power of our Thoughts and their impact on every day life…spoken so eloquently by Sir Lawrence Olivier in the musical “Time” Close your eyes and listen.

FULL MOON IN SAGITTARIUS 21st MAY

Sag moon

On Saturday 21st May we have the first of two full moons in Sagittarius. This one is nose-to-nose with the warrior planet Mars, at 1 degree of Sagittarius. The first and last degrees of signs always intensify the qualities of the planets in question, and this one puts a sword-like laser spotlight on communication and truth.  Full moons are always pretty intense anyway, as whatever  has been drifting along in the unconscious, is brought into the light. The combination of energies  this full moon could create some wonderful exciting sparks in communications and ideas…  or a raging inferno… depending on how we respond in the moment.

First of all, Mars… masculine, driven, assertive, passionate, impulsive and potentially aggressive, is still retrograde and because he’s a forward-moving type of chap, it’s not something he’s too fond of. Actually he can get rather edgy, frustrated, agitated or flat-out pissed off , when things don’t move as fast as they should, especially in the area of communications. Being in Sagittarius, there can also be impatience and  intolerance with people who don’t “get” things as quickly as we’d like them to, or say what we want them to say.  Fortunately, Mercury starts turning direct on the 21st, so that should  thankfully ease things a bit.

Back to the full moon – Gemini gathers information and knowledge, Sagittarius fires truth seeking missile arrows everywhere he goes.  The only thing is, the archer can be rather tactless at times, especially when he’s hanging out with warring Mars.

We all just need to be aware that our truth is not necessarily anybody else’s and to be cautious of wielding the sword of “our” truth, to all in sundry!

There is sure to be a LOT of noise and chattering going on inside and outside of our heads this full moon and we really need to filter it, before we react verbally or in writing.

If you feel triggered, try making some space for the  emotions as they arise, but don’t go into the story of them. For example: Somebody says or does  something and you suddenly feel angry/ sad/ hurt/ alone/ angry.  The knee-jerk reaction, courtesy of the Mars/ Moon conjunction is to project it onto the other person. Instead, allow yourself to notice the emotion and  let it just be there for a while,  without trying to change it. When your mind starts zooting down a myriad of rabbit holes, bring it back gently to the present moment. Emotions that are ignored or repressed will be the ones that cause the explosions or implosions this full moon.

On the days leading up to, and those directly following the 21st,  we could all do with taking 10 or 20 breaths before we blurt anything and this includes the words we say to ourselves.

Then ask…

...Is what I’m about to say absolutely true for me and for this person?

Is it necessary?

Is it kind?

In every moment we have the choice of going to war or not. Let’s not!

I still have some space on my Power Animal workshop this Saturday 21st – on Full Moon!   There are also  two exciting workshops in June. Check them out in the newsletter or email me for details

Lifelight Update – 16th June New Moon in Gemini

write a new story

What’s your story and is it still a page turner or are you a bit bored with it? I know I am more than ready for the New Moon on the 16th  June  to help me push the re-set/ re-write  button on mine.

Mars, the fiery warrior planet, is stepping onto the stage with the Sun and Moon in Gemini, the sign of the communicator/ talker /thinker –  bringing fire and brimstone and some extra vooma to our thought processes and communication. This is the day when we’re likely to side-step the eggshells and say it like it is, which might not be a bad idea.  We’re being given a perfect opportunity to really notice what we’re feeling, thinking and saying, to check whether the three are in alignment, and to make adjustments if they’re not. Some genius ideas might just appear too, provided we give ourselves the chance to download them.

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, irritated, anxious, frustrated or downright angry lately, this new moon could provide some red hot triggers that will accentuate these feelings. If this does happen,  rather than project it onto some unsuspecting soul, use the energy to really feel the feelings and get to the bottom of those thoughts. Vent the feelings in a safe way and listen to the stories attached to them.  They might have some really important information for you about the next chapter of your life.  Write it out, talk it out (to yourself if necessary) punch a pillow, run, move, paint ….  Whatever works for you…just connect with where you are, as authentically as possible, because whatever you do, will set the scene and open the door to the next month of your life.

This is probably the best time this year, to bring to light the stories we’ve been telling ourselves for years, about our lives, and to start editing and re-writing the chapters  that aren’t serving us anymore.  So often we find ourselves repeating the same sentences, the same actions, having the same reactions and  believing that this is the way it is and that there’s nothing we can do about it, when it really is in our power to change the script.

What is the story you tell about your life and is it true?

Here are some clues to get you going.

I will never …..…………

I always …………………

I’m a  very  ……………….person.

I always wanted to ………..

I have to ………………

I’m too…………. to do …………

It’s too late to………………….

The …………… part of my life just doesn’t work

The …………….part of my life flows really easy

I believe I can do ………………………..

My ……………… situation never changes

I’m not good at………………..

I am really good at……………….

……………. is really difficult for me

……………..is really easy for me

I can’t take ……………….. any more

I’m really sick to death of ……………………..

I really wish…………………….

Another excellent clue as to finding out how our story might need to change, is to be  aware of the advice we give other people. Very often, that’s the very thing we need to do  ourselves.

The thoughts we think and the words we speak do become our reality, so doesn’t it make sense to change the story if it’s not working, take steps in that direction and re-envision our lives? It really is up to us!  Mercury has turned direct again, so it’s all systems go!

My workshops in July will be based around this theme.  In a playful way, we will connect with the stories we tell about our lives (and yes, they really can make us laugh). And then, using imagery, sharing and visual journaling, we will set about creatively re-writing the script and re-envisioning it.

I am also available to work with you on this theme on a one-on-one coaching basis

Happy New Moon everybody!

Lifelight Astrology – December 2014

Middleground

By Michelle McClunan

Well, here we are, heading for the home stretch of 2014, which has been a blurringly quick, busy, somewhat challenging year for many of us. It’s certainly  been a bit of a whopper for me, but the blessings and learnings have been immense too!  Dark and Light, Pain and Liberation, Sadness and Joy – the polarities or life!

When I look at the Astrology for December, it’s clear that this is a month filled to the brim with more of the same paradoxes, contrasts and perhaps challenges, as well as great opportunities to shift, heal and grow.

In astrology we have these pesky little aspects called squares, which occur when two planets are locked into a stressful ninety degree angle with one other – a lot like being confined in a room, with someone whom we have nothing in common with, or seriously don’t like… for an extended period of time.  With nowhere to run, we are pushed to find the commonalities between us and to reach a level of acceptance.  This is exactly what squares do – they aren’t designed to just give us a hard time. They’re there to help us  s t r e t c h and grow, tiresome as that might be sometimes.

Many of us may find ourselves facing some squares over the Festive Season, which is when we get to spend more time than usual with family, extended family, partners,  in-laws, step relations and the like. This is generally guaranteed to bring to the surface all sorts of issues, which we thought our adult selves had dealt with and packed neatly away. As they say, if you think you’re enlightened, spend a weekend with your family!

Without going into too much complicated Astrology, we essentially have two major squares between slower moving planets that are being activated this month.

The good old Uranus Pluto square, which I’ve written about a lot in past, becomes exact for the 6th time since 2012. The last time it will happen will be in March 2015 –  glory be!

Briefly, Pluto, the agent of death, rebirth and regeneration (transformation) is in patriarchal conservative Capricorn, which represents control, tradition, the old guard, governments, corporate structures etc.  Revolutionary Uranus is in fiery, impulsive, aggressive Aries, defender of the peoples’ rights. What this means for the planet is essentially a revolution, where “the people” fight the establishment. It also has a habit of bringing deep dark secrets and compulsions  (Pluto) out of hiding and into the light – largely through the media (Uranus) The latest sex scandal with Bill Cosby is just one example. The women who he allegedly abused, are risking their reputations after decades and spilling the beans to the media, about the man who was a traditional father figure to so many, for so long. This is a literal example of Uranus Pluto at work.

What it means for us personally is that it’s yet another opportunity to connect with whatever is lurking in the shadows of our own psyches, bring it up to the surface, pick out the gems and ditch the rest.  As a fellow coach said the other day, “Decide what’s not serving you, kiss it goodbye and let it go”.

It’s a time for questioning the old guard that resides within us and ushering in the new. All those old hackneyed beliefs and judgements about everything that we’ve held for so long – are they even valid and how are they serving us?. It’s also about asking where and how we are trying to control the world around us and how that’s   working.

Anxiety levels about our country, our world and our planet are running high, as everywhere you go, people are talking about the crime, the injustice, the unfairness, the ineptitude, the insecurity.  Although most of us can relate to it in some way, we need to ask ourselves whether it serves us to talk about it all the time or to engage with people who do.

Is it changing anything or just bringing our personal and collective vibrations to their knees?  It’s one thing if there’s something we can actually do to change a situation, but if there isn’t, our energy is better employed at addressing what we can change about our own lives or attitudes For me, the quickest way to change my attitude, is to enter into a state of gratitude. I was given such a wonderful example by a friend the other day, who, whilst  driving to class, ran through her body and expressed gratitude for each part of it. This instantly lifted her vibration and her spirits. Every single one of us can do that, any time we choose to.

We also have the choice, every minute of every day, as to whether we are going to enter into the downward spiral of judgement and criticism or not.

The other square that’s happening involves the giants, Jupiter and Saturn. These two polar opposites are currently engaged in an interesting kick boxing match. Where Saturn is about old knowledge, maturity, tradition, categorising, control, judgement, limitation, contraction,  duty, conservative outlooks and responsibility, Jupiter is about liberation, expansion, broader perspectives,  new knowledge and higher learning.

This square asks us to consider, in any given moment, whether something is contracting or expanding us and then make our choices from there.

As we hurtle towards the finishing line of 2014, Saturn and Jupiter advise us to take a bit of time out, to do a stock-take and ask ourselves some questions that will reveal what we’ve learnt this year.

I’m running one workshop on the 13th December, where we will explore this theme as a small group, through visualisation, reflection, and art. Using a combination of painting, words and imagery, we will tell our 2014 story in a GRATITUDE COLLAGE.  I still have a couple of places available, so please email me for more details.  michvr@intekom.co.za

An unexamined life is not worth living” – Socrates

Here are some of questions to ask yourself before year end – the Gemini full moon on  6th December would be a great time to do it.

  •  What would you like to kiss goodbye to, along with 2014?
  •  What were the things or who were the people that challenged you and contributed to your growth in  2015?
  •  What are you grateful for, right now?
  •  What new truths have you learnt this year and how will you embrace them and expand them further in the year to come?’
  •  If you made one lifestyle change for your mental, physical, spiritual, emotional health in 2015, what would it be?

When I did this recently with a bunch of life coaches (thanks to you all), the clearest thing that came up for me was the word “Surrender”. Much of what has happened in my life this year, has been largely out of my control and has more or less pushed me into a place of acceptance. While I was mulling this over yesterday, the word middle ground kept on coming up.  I looked up some synonyms for the word –  golden mean, centre, happy medium, neutral territory, interface – all of which resonated hugely.

For me, taking the middle ground seems to be one of best ways to navigate the extremes and embrace the changes that are happening at any given time. It means not judging whether something is good or bad, but rather staying neutral.

Words like “neutrality” and  “surrender”  get a bit of a bad rap, unfortunately, as they’re often seen as boring or weak or jelly fishy. That’s certainly how I used to perceive them. However, more and more I’m realising, that when things feel overwhelming, if I can remember to stop, lean back, step away, breathe deeply, soften and unclench my jaw and my fists, I start entering into a place of neutrality and can actually feel my heart softening. The neutral place is where the Divine resides.

It’s the still point in the storm, where we can connect with the higher part of ourselves,  see the situation from a broader perspective and open the way for magical, infinite insights and possibilities. I’ve noticed when I do loosen (not let go of) the reigns for a while, Lo and Behold, things actually have a way of wobbling into place all by themselves, without my controlled intervention…fancy that!

Another tool that helps us find the middle ground is to find a symbol or an image that re-aligns us.  It might be the centre point of a spiral or the place of meeting in an infinity symbol or the dot in the middle of a circle (the symbol for the Sun) or something else that resonates for you. You could imagine gathering your energy inwards, towards a core centre line, or walking to the centre of a labyrinthe or  bringing a wildly swinging pendulum to the quiet, stillpoint close to the ground.

Whenever you need to re-align yourself – call your image up in your imagination, take a few deep breaths, relax, soften, run through your 5 senses and then consider 3 things that you are grateful for. Et Voila – you will be back in your centre – back in the middle ground. The more we do that, the more fertile that middle ground will become and the easier it will be to go there.

The grass is not greener on the other side, its greener where you water it.

Thank you to all my valued friends, clients, colleagues and readers of my ramblings, for being such a vital and cherished part of my life. You are my teachers and my  green grass.

With love

Michelle

Lifelight Astrology June 2014 – by Michelle McClunan

in silence

By Michelle McClunan

Take a   l  o  n g   d e e e e p   breath. .. drop those shoulders…. E x h a l e  …. Connect with yourself right now in this moment.  Listen… What are you feeling? …. Where are you feeling it in your body? … What are the stories that are going on in your mind….Notice them… Breathe. ..

That …right there is the theme for June as I see it.

With the Sun currently in Gemini, the focus is on communication and this is usually a social, light, intellectual, airy, chatty, busy time of the year, but this one’s a little different to most.

The New Moon in Gemini on the 28th May  set the scene for a much  more gentle, intuitive, creative, sensitive and quieter June than usual. There’s basically a lot more water around, with a square to Neptune, Mercury (the mind)  moving into heart based Cancer and a beautiful grand water trine between Saturn, Jupiter and Chiron.

“When flowing water … meets with obstacles on its path, a blockage in its journey, it pauses. It increases in volume and strength, filling up in front of the obstacle and eventually spilling past it.  Do not turn and run, for there is nowhere worthwhile for you to go. Do not attempt to push ahead into the danger … emulate the example of the water: Pause and build up your strength until the obstacle no longer represents a blockage.” Marsha Sinetar (sent to me By Antoinette McInnes)

All in all, this is potentially a deeply intuitive, creative, profoundly healing time, IF we take time out to stop and listen.

With Mercury turning retrograde on the 8th June in Cancer, we need to remember that if we operate from the level of the rational mind alone, we’re in for possible confusion, delusion and misunderstandings.

This isn’t the best time to make life changing decisions, but if you do need to, try this:

Stop, be quiet, ask for guidance and  bring to mind each alternative one by one. Then tune in with which one feels expansive and which one feels limiting… in your body. The one that makes you feel expansive is very likely to be the right decision.

The more we’re able to go into silence, even for a few minutes at a time and listen to our inner compass, which resides in our hearts, the more we tune in with our truth. It really is that simple.

Gemini is all about communication and learning, how we speak and how we listen.  And the focus this month is on inward communication rather than outer.

When you recognize that there is a voice in your head that pretends to be you and never stops speaking, you are awakening out of your unconscious identification with the stream of thinking. When you notice that voice, you realize that who you are is not the voice (the thinker) but the one who is ‘aware’ of it. Knowing yourself as the awareness behind the voice is freedom. ~ Eckhart Tolle ~

See if you can cut out the noise at  intervals during your day. Turn the cell phone off, take time away from any electronic gadgetry, make some tea and walk outside or spend some time breathing and listening to your inner dialogue. You don’t need to be sitting cross-legged on a cushion to do this, although that’s fine too J

Really in my experience it’s about taking precious moments to check in with yourself. Let the thoughts just drift in and out of your awareness, taking note of their quality and the feelings they evoke in you. Become aware of the manner in which you speak to yourself, perhaps even judge and criticise yourself and ask whether you would speak to anyone else like that. Simply listening,  without judgement… just interested curiosity.

Listen too to the words you use when you’re speaking to someone else and how often you repeat the same mantra’s. “ I’ve got no money, I’m scared, I’m insecure, this is not working, I’m irritated, I’ve had enough, I’m sick and tired”  These thoughts and words are literally creating our reality and only when we take time to notice them can we choose different ones.

One of the greatest gifts I think we can give ourselves and others is that of listening It’s the most incredible thing actually. Try this. When someone you know is worried or stuck or fearful or confused, just listen intently to what they are saying for 5 minutes or so without interrupting.. In my experience, the answers start to drift into up into the speaker’s consciousness, completely… without your help. The same applies if we listen to ourselves.

What are the stories you tell yourself about your life and your future and are they true?  Will you always be stuck in the place you’re in now? Will you always be overweight, sad, unwell, alone, broke? How do you know that any of that is  true?

What if you allowed yourself to imagine a life that was everything you dreamed of… and then visualised it often?

In every moment that we connect with what we love and feel good, we are re-wiring our brains, lifting our vibrations and changing what we attract into our lives.

To help us along with this, Venus, the planet of love, beauty and value, has also just moved into her own sign of Taurus. Yay!  Her home visit will help us to get in touch with the false beliefs that run our lives from behind the scenes and assist us in  realigning  us with the truth of who we are. This will happen mainly when we’re in a relaxed state and fully engaged in things we love to do.

Keep a record of your dreams this month, as well as important conversations and meetings with others and be open and awake to any “aha’s” dropping into your consciousness seemingly from “no-where”

Ideas and answers always appear when we’re not pushing and shoving. They flow in when we stop the incessant barrage of information and busyness. Just yesterday I found myself labouring over some creative writing and strategising I was doing to the point that  I was going around in square circles. For once, I listened to my own advice and went for a walk. No sooner had I walked out of my driveway than the ideas started flowing in, effortlessly… it was like a tap had been opened. When I got home, I sat down at the computer and the words and ideas just poured out. Eureka!

But what about when we have nagging thoughts and worries that just won’t go away?

I read a really interesting article the other day on the “ironic monitoring process”, where research studies have shown that our brains actually search for whatever thought or emotion we are trying to suppress.

In a series of experiments, a group of participants were told not to think of a white bear while they performed other tasks. A second group was instructed to think of white bears and then not to think of them. Interestingly, the first group, which tried to keep the white bear at bay, thought about them more than once a minute! The second group thought about them more when they were trying to suppress white-bear thoughts than when they were told to think about them.

Basically when we try to suppress an intrusive uncomfortable thought or feeling it’s as good as putting out a welcome sign for it.

The article suggested and I find that it helps to rather invite the worrying or disturbing thought in, making it intentional. Say it out loud, write it down or talk to someone about it. Then, if you think there is something you can practically do about it, set 5 to 15 minutes where you commit to focussing on it  (or really worrying about it if you like).  I find that when I notice the thought or feeling rather than suppress it, it relaxes its hold on me and often disappears completely or a solution arises easily and effortlessly when I’m least expecting it.

The more work I do with myself and clients, the more I realise that this human experience is  really about being fully present to what’s going on right now – whatever it is, … to feel into it, to dialogue with it with compassion and  from there to move forward.

If you are stuck in any area of your life, this is a potent time astrologically to get to the bottom of what patterns or behaviours might be holding you back. If you would like to investigate working with me to help you to Navigate your life, you can read more about the life coaching here.

The first step on our adventure together is usually a comprehensive astrology reading, which is often followed by an agreed number of personal navigational coaching sessions, to put you back on course. These include Process Art, Neurolinguistic programming, Energy work and more.

I still have a couple of places left on the Build a new Truth Highway workshop on the 7th June and one on the 21st June. In this one day workshop, using a combination of group work, visualisation, journaling, muscle testing, Neurolinguistic programming, Astrology and Process Art, we will excavate old neural pathways that no longer serve us and start building a new diamond studded truth highway. See below or email me for more details
