LIFELIGHT ASTROLOGY UPDATE 21 MARCH

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Our new Astrological year has finally begun, with the sun entering Aries, the sign that governs new intentions, new beginnings and new life. This is the time of the year when we feel a real desire to emerge from the oneness, express our individuality, stand up, be seen and push forward with new initiatives.

The cusp on which Aries falls in your Natal chart is the area of your life which is where you will be wanting to focus your energy and  where a new cycle of expression will begin.

Some other important news is that Venus, the planet of love, peace, harmony and money,  is currently travelling retrograde through Aries, which means that she will be in the sign of the warrior for 13 weeks in total, compared to the normal 3 weeks she spends in a sign.

With her being retrograde, we are asked to re-visit our relationships, our money and our value systems. If there seem to be blockages in any of those areas, this is a good time to reassess them and make the changes that need to be changed.

When you combine the feminine energy of Venus with the fiery boldness, individualism and assertion of Aries,  you can end up with a ragingly angry feminine force OR a person who stands gently, but firmly in her own power, despite the opinion and actions of others.

This is the time of the year, where we are encouraged to explore our uniqueness, to embrace life to the full… to move, to sing, to dance, to make art, to make love, to adventure….  to emerge from the  shadows, step into our power and boldly embrace the next step in our lives.

Where are you unique?

How do you stand out from the crowd?

What is one audacious dream you have for your life? ‘

Where in your life, are you prepared to make one bold step into the future?

Email me for details on the BORN TO BE BOLD Workshops in April.

We still have space on our EARTH AND AUTUMN ODYSSEYS as well, so be sure not to miss them.

Full Moon 12th March in Virgo!

Hi folks

On Sunday, we have the last full moon of the astrological year. This means that we’ll end the year on a waning moon cycle, which gives us a final opportunity to clear out, detox, release and surrender.

The moon is in earthy, pragmatic, organised Virgo, opposing a school of planets is Pisces (the fish), comprising the Sun, Chiron, the wounded healer and Mercury (communication, thought) and Neptune (connection with the Divine/ Universal energy)

Astrology is basically the study of energy and all energy is made up of the elements –  fire, earth, water, air and ether.  They are the building blocks of everything, including ourselves.  An astrology chart, whether it’s for a person, a country or a business, basically tells us where and how these energies are distributed, as well as where our balances or imbalances are likely to be.  The fact that we understand this instinctively, is demonstrated daily to me, when discussing the elemental make-up of my clients’ birth charts.

What I do know, is that when we understand the elements, we are able to work with them more consciously and to bring them and ourselves, into balance and harmony.

So – what’s happening right now elementally?

Let’s look at water first, with all the Pisces energy around.

In astrology, water is the element which absorbs, purifies, softens, nourishes and clears. It’s associated with our feelings, emotional needs, connection with all that is, as well as with nourishing, replenishing and softening.  When our water is balanced, there is empathy, compassion, flow and nurturance. When there’s too much, we feel overwhelmed, deluded, confused, victimised or over -emotional. When there’s too little, we might feel parched, dry, rigid, pressed. You get the drift ? (excuse the pun…J)

How’s your water feeling right now, this minute?  Take a moment to check in with where you are. Is your water flowing. Are you feeling dry or water-logged?

Let’s look a bit further and investigate Pisces in particular.  When there’s a lot of Pisces energy around, it often coincides with actual water issues in our environments – like leaking pipes, floods, cars overheating or heavy rains.   In our physical bodies, we often find excess fluid or lack of flow. Flu,  pleurisy or other mucous conditions might present themselves. Physical, emotional or mental issues that have settled into the unconscious will often come up to the surface at this time. Emotionally we might feel confused, overwhelmed by grief, loss, – or pain.  Unconscious mental conditioning can surface as well. There may be a huge urge to escape into anything that is less harsh than the situation we find ourselves in. There can be a lethargy, a lack of clarity and sometimes a fogginess as well.

On the upside, there can be more creativity, better intuition and easier connection to higher states of consciousness. Pisces helps us to bring things up from the unconscious and to release them, by washing them away. It helps us to relinquish the controlling ego mind and allow something bigger to emerge, to connect with the big Self, rather than the small self.  It encourages us to get into alignment with the Universe, rather than resisting it; to flow with the river of life, rather the try to push it – and we are so good at pushing rivers in our culture.

Now let’s have a quick look at the element of Earth – practical, grounded, steady. When Earth is in balance, we are deeply connected with and able to properly listen to and nurture our bodies. We feel that we have a steady base, from which to launch ourselves into the world. When there’s too much earth, we might feel heavy, lethargic, sluggish, depressed, rigid, controlled,  controlling or stuck. When there’s too little, we might feel spaced out, ungrounded, insecure, scattered.

This full moon this weekend is in pragmatic, organised Virgo. She helps us to discern what’s healthy and what’s not, assisting us in separating the wheat from the chaff in our lives.

What this full moon is asking us to do is to slow down, ground ourselves and connect with the wisdom of  the earth and our bodies (Virgo). We can do this by checking in with all our senses, to find out how we’re feeling on all levels. When we do this, we provide ourselves with a container, which helps our water to flow, without overwhelming us.  This can be achieved by spending time in nature,  quietly just sitting with our feelings and allowing them to ebb and flow, or by engaging with them through playing, painting, singing them out – these would all be containers.

Squaring the sun and the moon is Saturn in Sagittarius, the wise old teacher. He encourages us to notice what’s going on, but not to get caught up in the drama. By moving into the position of the seer or the observer, we are able to find the learning in what is arising for us. However, we need to be aware that Saturn can be stern  task master and is perfectly capable of dishing out some pretty heavy lessons, especially when we’re not listening, or not  being true to ourselves. He can be the dispenser of some Karmic klaps, to wake us up.

To end off, I’ll give you a quick example of how this has and still is, playing out for me personally this week, which might help you decipher what’s happening in your own chart and life.

Last week, my friend and business partner Theresa and I pushed really hard to get a new WEBSITE and vision up and running. We used to be in the production industry together, which was all about working around the clock to get the job done…no matter what! When I have a deadline (self-imposed or not) I  still find myself stepping straight into “production mode”. I tend to  become super-focussed and, if I’m not careful,  ignore the needs of my body and almost everything else too, in order to get the job done! This can be very helpful on one level, because I… well… get things done!  However… and I know this for sure…. When I do this, without listening to my deeper needs, I step out of the universal flow and my body starts to freak out. She sends signals to me, to tell me she’s not happy, but because I am so captured, I occasionally ignore her and then, she stages a revolt.  This generally comes (for me) in the form of really bad cluster headaches, as I seem to process most of my stuff through my head.. go figure! . Symbolically – there is  too much going on “up there”. Too much pressure!  Over the years, thanks to the work I’ve done and with a lot of help from my A team of healers, these headaches have largely disappeared… except when I stop listening to the signs.

This is where it gets interesting.   By the time the weekend came around, I realised that I needed to lean back and rest, which I did!  And then on Monday night I got home to water pouring into my lounge through a light fitting.  You guessed it – burst geyser. These days, I view things very symbolically, so I absolutely have not missed the “co-incidence”  – too much pressure (up there), too much activity (fire), emotion ( (energy in motion)  – boiling water, with no outlet. Due to it being the middle of the night, there was nobody to ask, so I turned to our trusty advice provider, Mr Google. I laughed out loud when the advice was to “ Turn the geyser off.  Run the hot water to release the pressure”   Great advice indeed. When I was able to stop the train the next day, feel what I was feeling and throw some paint at a canvas, the headaches started to ease.

So, this is how we can work with the elements and with what life is presenting us with at any given moment.  Theresa and I have planned to run a series of retreats this year, where we will be doing a deep dive into each element.  Starting with EARTH, we’ll be spending 4 nights and 5 days in the Drakensberg at the most exquisite venue, Mkomazana. The mountains, rivers and trees will provide us with the perfect container to help us to get ourselves back into rhythm with our planet and with our bodies. Over the five days, we’ll spend a lot of time  connecting with the earth, walking in nature, seeping her into our bodies and souls. We will make art both indoors and outdoors, with paint, clay and gifts from our natural surroundings .We will star-gaze, flower-gaze, lie on the grass, drum, stretch, and dance to get into alignment with Mother Earth.

Theresa will help you to understand the Earth Element in terms of mythology and archetypes.  I will help you to investigate your astrology charts through the lense of Earth, to find out what your blueprint is and how you can bring it back into balance. This is the first step to understanding Astrology and will be the precursor to the Astrology retreats and on-line courses we are putting together.

Please have a look at our new website:  www.soular-power.com. I will continue to post here as well for the time being, so if you already follow this blog, there is no need to change anything.

Have a beautiful, soulful Full moon weekend everyone.

Lifelight Astrology 11 January 2017

feminine-honouring

HONOURING THE FEMININE

We kick this year off Astrologically with an intense, super sensitive, feminine Full Moon in Cancer on 12th  January, AND all the planets have turned direct!  Leading up to, during and after the Full Moon, it’s highly likely that emotions could run high. Full moons  always highlight the polarities that exist within us and in our relationships, bringing to the surface that which has been hiding in the dark. .. and this is a big one!

Involved  with this Full moon, are  Pluto the plumber and planet of intense transformation who is travelling close to the Sun in responsible Capricorn, the Moon in sensitive, nurturing Cancer; both of which are squared by Uranus ( planet of change) and Jupiter (planet of expansion) .  This forms a giant Grand Cross in the Sky, which has the potential of cracking open and breaking through the armour that we may have erected around our hearts, in our striving to move forward. The full moon is also in a flowing trine formation to a group of planets in Pisces (a feminine sign). These include the wounded healer Chiron, Neptune, Mars and Venus, so its a very fertile time for feeling and healing on all levels.

As we all hurtle up our respective responsibility-laden, goal-driven mountains,  ensuring that we’re earning enough money, working as hard as we can, taking care of everybody else, perhaps burning the candle at both ends,  there’s a huge  tendency to close off our hearts, block off our emotions and become desensitised to what’s actually  going on inside and around us .

This full moon sets the scene for us to really start to honour and respect the softer, more vulnerable parts of ourselves, because only when we’re able to do so, can we respect and honour the same in others.

Meryl Streep recently made a powerful heart wrenching speech when she received her award at the Golden Globes.   There has been some controversy about it, but for me, Streep ( a Cancerian)  epitomises the mature woman, who despite her huge success, has kept her heart open and therein lies her immense talent and power.

She quotes

Disrespect invites disrespect.

Violence incites violence.

Take your broken heart.

Make it into Art.

Most of us are scared stiff of allowing our hearts to be broken open. It feels much easier to  build walls around them. We witness something horrifying.  We turn away. We continue to trudge up the mountain. We become immune!

The problem is that when we block out the difficult feelings, we also block out the good ones.  Repress, ignore or numb pain and we start to flat-line, as  feelings of love and joy can’t flow freely either.

crack-in-everything

This full moon and for the next few weeks, see if you can  surrender to the feelings that arise  (because  they will).  Feel.  Breathe. Soften. Allow.  If you try it – you’ll notice that the difficult  emotions pass  much quicker when we don’t suppress them and they are also less likely to  emerge later as  explosions or illness or depression.

This grand cross is likely to bring some of  our exiled shadow bits out of hiding. This could result in people projecting their issues onto you, so,  when interacting with others in the next few days, take long, deep, calming breaths before you react.

As our own emotional reactions (Cancer) become less spiky and more considered (Capricorn), our interactions with others become smoother as well.

The message of this full moon is about  embracing and expanding the mature mother within us , men and women alike. Rather than expecting and waiting for someone else to provide us with what we need, we’re being asked to learn to give it to ourselves. But… before we can do that, we have to connect with what we need.

If it’s normal for you to put everybody else’s needs before yours, this is the time to start turning that around. There really is nothing noble about ignoring our feelings and our needs and not taking care of ourselves. All that happens when we do, is that they go underground, only to reappear in a different form, when we least expect it.

If, like many of us, you’re not particularly adept at nurturing yourself, commit (Capricorn) to doing something nurturing (Cancer) for yourself every single day, until it becomes a habit.  Its like watering a plant daily. Do it with love and tenderness and the plant will flourish and grow.  This will look different for us all. It could be something as simple as massaging cream (gently and tenderly) into your skin, quietly sipping a steaming cup of something, languishing in a hot foamy bath or cooking yourself some comfort food.

If each of us brings more softness, more gentlenesss into our lives, it magnifies out into the world and brings about change at a level we cannot even comprehend.

“The planet does not need more successful people. The planet desperately needs more peacemakers, healers restorers, story tellers and lovers of all kinds”.

These are the words of the Dalai Lama, who like Madiba,  is a Cancerian – real men, who have integrated their Mature Feminine. This is what the world needs now.

Love

make-a-wish

26th December 2016

Every now and then, the Universe gifts us with a New Moon right at the end of a calendar year and that’s exactly what’s happening in a few days time! It’s a gift because New Moon’s are always opportunities to finish off and let go, so that we can plant beautiful new seeds.

On the 29th December, the Moon joins the Sun and Mercury (retrograde) in Capricorn. It’s almost as if we have our very own trio of  mountain goats, beckoning us to journey with them up the 2017 mountain. They’re at the ready to  equip us with  resourceful guidance, discipline, structure, responsibility and commitment.

…All sound a tad boring?  Well, never fear… Uranus is near, giving us a hearty whack of maverick energy to kick start the New Year!

The planet of change and liberation, turns direct on the same day as the new moon,  after a five month retrograde period.  When Uranus is retrograde, we feel the force of change internally, but often aren’t able to make it manifest, for one reason or another.

This new moon, should, by all accounts, be a positive catalyst for change! Yeah!

All those plans you’ve had – all the change you’ve  wanted to bring into your life?  This is the time!   If you feel excited and maybe a little nervous  about doing something different – something that will  expand you,  ignite you, excite you…that’s our revolutionary friend Uranus!

Connect with the energy of this mature, thoughtful, goal-driven Capricorn new moon to assess the changes you want to integrate into your life. Write them down. Make dates in your calendar. Commit to them.

And then… stir in a handful or two of sparkly  Uranus energy to take it up a few notches. Break out of the norm. Do something new… or… Do something old in a way you’ve never done before. Embrace the unique, the unusual, the invigorating!

Why not?

What do you have to lose?

Happy New Year to you all.  Its gonna be a cracker!

Ring of Fire – Solar Eclipse

By Michelle McClunan

The first day of Spring (in the Southern Hemisphere) is ushered in by a burning ring of fire, an annular solar eclipse. This is, in essence a super charged new moon, which has far reaching effects. The Moon is positioned in between the Earth and the Sun, almost but not entirely blocking out it’s light, so as to create  a  corona or a ring of fire. Apparently  it will be visible in Central Africa . However, whether we see it or not,  we will definitely feel its effects.

Solar Eclipse.jpg

Here is an example of what a Solar eclipse looks like in action!

What does it mean?

Before I explain what I think it means, close your eyes for a few seconds and feel the energy of it and what it might mean to you.

There are many myths and superstitions around Solar Eclipses and throughout history, they’ve  been both feared and revered. In some cultures, they are still seen as bad omens, as the sun disappears from the sky or the cosmic light “goes out”. This is the first of two eclipses this month, which could be an interesting one on all fronts – politically, economically and climatically, with dire weather being rather widely predicted.

Symbolically, a Solar Eclipses can be seen as the  masculine (Sun) being eclipsed / vanquished by the Feminine (moon).   Eclipses are also seen as portals or gateways between the material and subtle worlds, Generally though, a Solar eclipse signifies a closure, a completion… where something disappears or ends, to allow for something new to enter.

Completion 9 9 9

There’s a strong theme of  completion and closure with this one, being at 9 degrees Virgo, in the 9th Month of the year 2016, (which reduces to a 9) making  it a 9 year numerologically.  Although I don’t practice Numerology, a nine year does indicate the  end of a cycle and signals this as a year of completion, surrender and forgiveness.Next year will be a 1 year, when the time will be right to start afresh. That will be a relief for many, as this year its seemed to be rather difficult to get things moving forward… or maybe it’s just me.  That aside, we all get the chance this year to complete and release whatever we need to from the last 9 years.

Completion cycles often come with a sense of aloneness, grief or sadness, as we part ways with things and people who have been important to us.  Even though this can be challenging, it also carries the potential for huge spiritual growth , even if it’s hard to see at the time.

Eclipses work in 19 year cycles, so this one relates to 1st September 1997, when there was an eclipse at the same degree.  It might be useful to take a few moments and cast your mind back to that time and to what was going on for you.

What ended or disappeared from your life?

What new elements or people entered your life in the months after the eclipse?

What loose ends do you need to tie up from that period?

The part of  your birth chart which houses  8 to 10 degrees Virgo  indicates the area of your life where this played out and which is likely to repeat in some way now. If you have planets or points at those degrees of Virgo or in any of the other mutable signs, (Sagittarius, Pisces or Gemini) you’re likely to feel the effects more strongly than if you don’t.

In my case, 9 degrees Virgo sits at the apex of my chart and in September 1997 EVERYTHING changed for me…. And I mean everything. … so its going to be interesting to see how this one plays out!

Saturn/ Mars and Neptune are caught up in the Ring of Fire

I’m placing more importance on this eclipse than I normally do, due to it triggering the Saturn/Mars/ Neptune square which I wrote about here.

And  don’t forget  Mercury Retrograde

Last, but certainly not least, this eclipse coincides with Mercury (the eclipse’s ruler) turning retrograde until 21st/22nd September (don’t delay in backing up ALL your data and  double check your travel bookings!) .

So, what do we do with it?

I see this as an opportunity to look back (Mercury retrograde) and reflect on the last 9 or 19 years – where we have shifted and where we haven’t;  where we’ve grown and where we haven’t;  where we’ve broken promises or vows to ourselves or others; how our relationship is with our bodies; where we are overly perfectionistic or pedantic, to the point of  stalling activity completely and what we need to fully and finally let go of, in order to move forward in our lives.

This is a really powerful time to release and let go, so that we can be cleared for a re-boot.

  • Close your eyes
  • Picture a ring of fire
  • Ask yourself what you really,  really, really want to let go of?
  • Put it into the ring of fire and let it burn baby!

If you’re feeling that something is changing in your life, but you’re unsure about how to move forward or how to navigate it, it’s highly likely that your chart is being triggered in some way. I’d be more than happy to do a mini reading over Skype to help you shed some light on it.

9 THINGS TO DO ON THIS TRIPLE 9 ECLIPSE

  1. Re-visit September 1997, what was going on for you then and how it connects to where you find yourself today.
  2. Connect with what or who you really need to let go of and release.
  3. Write it down, paint it, sculpt it, dance it, sing it, make some nature art
  4. Do some kind for ritual where you release it – eg burn the paper you have written or painted on,and blow away the ashes.
  5. Go through papers and photographs and burn  or throw out what you don’t want to keep.
  6. Clear out a cupboard or two – get rid of whatever you haven’t used or worn in 2 years. Remember, this is symbolic. By doing this, you are notifying the Universe that you have space for the new and are not holding onto the old out of fear.
  7. Make amends – write a letter to anyone you’ feel you may have wronged. If you aren’t able  to send it that’s ok – writing it will help clear your path.
  8. Really release anybody you might be holding onto who has physically departed from your life
  9. Commit to doing one thing towards a healthier, fitter, happier you – every day for the next 21 days.

Full Moon in Aquarius

Full Moon in Aquarius

By Michelle McClunan

On Thursday 18th August, we have a stimulating, perspective-changing, rule-breaking Full Moon / Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius.

With both the Sun and the Moon forming easy aspects to Uranus,  stay tuned for bold new energy, intuitive flashes, and original creative insights.

With Saturn having  just moved direct and a beautiful flowing trine between Venus and Pluto, we are being handed some extra Universal help this full moon , to eject us out of any boxes we may have been hiding in, step out, embrace our individuality and  stand up for what we believe in.

Hopefully we’ll  start feeling some forward movement in terms of our goals, relationships and finances too.

It’s interesting that the Olympics are held when the Sun is in regal Leo, which rules the human heart, the colour gold and honours individual expression.

Have you ever considered why so many millions of people, who may normally have little or no interest in sport, tune in and watch the opening, and much of the games? For me, it’s so much more than people showing their athletic prowess.  It’s a chance for the whole world to see, acknowledge and honour men and women who have challenged themselves, put their hearts and souls into their particular discipline and  actually succeeded in making the Olympic team.

I think we watch the games because collectively and individually we like to see people beat the odds.  Our hearts swell, as we watch  an athlete break the tape first, jump the highest, swim the fastest,  throw the furthest.

We watch because every single one of us wants to shine in our own unique way. We all want to be seen and acknowledged. It’s part of the human condition.

But what about those athletes who don’t win… those who have trained single-mindedly, mercilessly  for years, only to somehow not “make it” or even worse, injure themselves? I think that’s all part of it too. As we watch them, we feel our hearts opening to their sadness and their disappointment.  Win or lose – we feel connected to each other, which is what Aquarius is all about!

But here’s a question… when someone doesn’t make the cut, misses the mark…  do we respect and admire them less? Do we see them as losers?  I don’t think so!  In fact, the Olympic athletes are honoured with medals even when they don’t win. Even when they may feel that they have let themselves down by not winning the Gold, we still applaud them for their bravery, determination and endurance.

How often do we do the same for ourselves? How often do we applaud ourselves for our efforts, whether we “win” or “lose”? Many of us are experts at judging and berating  ourselves for our mistakes, failures,  errors of judgement, bad behaviour, “negative” emotions; for the  times that we’ve missed the mark in relationships, business, or life in general. Some of us could write books about our failures and our apparent misdemeanours.

How often do we look back on our lives and acknowledge the challenges that we have dealt with, the hardships that we have endured and overcome, the things we have accomplished. Why is  it that we  find it so hard  receive compliments or applause? I think we are probably harder on ourselves than anyone else.

So this full moon,  ask these questions…

How often do you honour or decorate YOURSELF?

What would honouring yourself look like?

How about setting an intention to write down three things at the end of each day that you actually did achieve… so those little things don’t go by unnoticed?

What would happen if you viewed yourself in the same light as you do an Olympic competitor – as a person  who, against all odds, has made it into the team, is showing up, giving it  all you’ve got, training, learning, honing your skills and shining your light, whether or not you win the gold.

What if you honoured yourself, even when you didn’t succeed the way you anticipated?

How would your life change if you treated yourself as an honourable being, rather than a  worthless one? What would happen if you could be patient with yourself, as you would be with a small child, if you could accept your mistakes, forgive yourself, ditch the judgements and recommit to your game, eyes wide and heart open, with wisdom, love, forgiveness and acceptance?

Speaking of Honouring and Celebrating- I have 2 more spaces on my Celebrating your Inner Child Workshop on 27th August. If you’re in Johannesburg, check out details of my 2 day workshop  on 17th and 18th September (almost full, so book asap) and lastly I’ll be running a  Seed of Life Workshop on the 24th September.

Lifelight Astrology Update 19th June

BLUE MOON AND WINTER SOLSTICE ON THE SAME DAY

Blue moon

Well folks, we have a real bona fide “Once in a blue moon” coming up on the 20th June. Not only is it the second full moon in Sagittarius within a month (see my post on 21st May for details of the first one) but it falls only one hour before the Sun moves into Cancer, heralding the Winter Solstice ( in the southern hemisphere that is )

This is the first time this has happened in 70 years, so it’s got a batch of sky watchers out there into a gleeful flurry.  For us astrologers, this combination of the Winter solstice and the Full moon in the sign of the archer, certainly brings with it the theme of opposites, as well as  a quiver of truth and meaning seeking arrows, as we ask –

” What is the meaning of it all?”  and “Is what I believe to be true, really true?”

Full moon shines bold and beautiful in the night sky – exposed, full and expressive. She always illuminates relationships – those we have with others, as well as with ourselves, our  thoughts and our beliefs about anything.

The Winter Solstice on the other hand is quiet and soulful, bringing the urge to retreat ot even  hibernate a little and then, from that silent  alone place, ask the big questions.  By taking shelter from the relentlessness of life,  the full  moon is able to shine her light on the questions which we ask.

To add more spice to this important moon, we also have another grand cross ( see my last blog for details) . This time, Mercury, the ruler of communication is involved. The fleet footed messenger opposes Saturn, invoking serious mindful thought or despondency/ depression. Jupiter and Neptune then form a square to this axis.

I’d like to explore the slow moving Saturn Neptune square a bit, because it’s  been around since November 2015 and will stay in our heavens  until September this year. It really is the transit of the year.

Firstly, Saturn is in Sagittarius and Neptune is in Pisces, both mutable signs, connected to our quest for truth, meaning, belonging and spiritual connection …  so there’s a bit of a  common  theme there.

But that’s where the similarity ends!

The two (a little like the introverted winter solstice versus the  extroverted beautiful big bold full moon) could not be more different.

Saturn in Sagittarius is the teacher, who insists that we go after our goals in a systematic, pragmatic , mature way. He just adores spreadsheets, schedules and boundaries, and wants us to be  disciplined, hard- working and, focussed on the future.

And Neptune in Pisces? Well….Our  king of the ocean would much rather  lie back in a hammock with a glass of wine  and contemplate the insides of his eyelids –  not apparently  achieving very much. He’s into dreaming beautiful dreams, connecting with the Divine, escaping the harshness,  drifting along in the present moment,  maybe strumming the ukulele, or dancing with the pixies. He finds Saturn crushingly boring with all his demands and Saturn in turn,  finds Neptune hazy, lazy and irresponsible.

And never the twain shall meet – but… like all relationships, we are challenged to  find common ground between the two.

We all have both these archetypes active within us right now and usually, one lands up winning, depending on our predispositions, upbringing and of course our natal charts. We might find ourselves feeling more or less unable to move forward, wanting to escape and  tune out reality completely , or we  may perhaps swing the other way , driving ourselves  relentlessly up the damn mountain.

A more helpful  way to deal with squares is to find a bridge, a centre point between the two energies.

So… whichever way the pendulum has been swinging for you, ask yourself what you need to do to bring it back to the centre. What is your medicine?

If you feel  as if you’re lost at sea without a paddle, perhaps you need to call on wise old Father Time (Saturn) to help you put some boundaries and routines in place … make some lists even !

If, on the other hand, you’ve been overdoing it, burning the candle at both ends, slogging up the never ending mountain, then maybe some time strumming the ukulele  in the hammock might not be a bad idea after all.

Above all, over this  full moon and for the next few weeks, remember to keep sending those truth seeking arrows into the centre of your soul – to find out what’s really true for you now! Don’t forget, as  we each expand our perspectives and upgrade our beliefs, we are actively helping the rest of the planet to do so as well.

In July and August, as the Sun moves through Cancer and Leo,  we will be working with the theme of re-envisioning our infancy, early childhood and our teenage years in my Art & Soul Workshops. Please email me for details.
