Full Moon September 24th in Aries- Building Soul Stamina

Balance.jpgBy Michelle McClunan

Full Moon September 24th /25th is in the first degree of Aries, a very powerful point on the zodiac wheel. A Full Moon happens when the Sun and Moon are in opposite signs and is always a time when things come to a head, culminate or are shown to us… in techn-icolour. It can also be a time of great paradox, when we feel pulled in different directions. This one is more intense than most, due to both the luminaries, as well as Chiron and Mercury, being in a square to the teacher planet Saturn.

This energy can be a little heavy, but rather than focusing on that that, I would  like to explore what its asking of us and how we can grow, through working with it.

For me, this full moon and the current planetary activity, particularly Saturn’s journey through Capricorn for the next 2 years, is urging us to build our integrity, or our Soul Stamina.

On the day of the full moon, we have the Moon and Chiron (the wounded healer) in Aries, opposite the Sun and Mercury in Libra.

The Sun and Mercury (the planet of thoughts, speech, communication) in Libra, urge us to co-operate, play nice, keep the balance, maintain the status quo exactly as it is. Libra is all about creating love, peace, harmony and beauty – “Let’s just shut up and keep the peace, Let’s all love one another” says Libra.

Directly opposite to this, there’s the moon and Chiron in Aries, which urges us to be unique, independent, state our opinions, stand up for ourselves, assert ourselves, dare to be different, rock the status quo and to take the next leap forward in our lives.  “We walk straight, so you’d better get out the way”  says Aries.

Can you feel that polarity?

And then to take it up a few more notches, along comes Saturn, the somewhat stern teacher/ authority figure of the zodiac, who shows us our inner conflict or perhaps, our incongruities. As annoying as this archetype can be when he weighs in like this, it helps to remember that he is always urging us to see times of difficulty as learning opportunities.

BUILDING INTEGRITY

Over the next few weeks and months and years, we’re being encouraged to look at whether we are living our lives with integrity, which is when our  our actions are congruent with our thoughts/words and beliefs. If not, there’s little chance that we can create a sense of inner harmony, which is the theme for this month.

Here’s a little exercise:

First identify two or three beliefs or truths that you hold sacred. These are things that you think or say often to yourself or others.

Here’s one example. Let’s say you find yourself often saying “We are all connected. We are all one”.

Most of the time, you really feel this to be true and happily move along, blissfully connecting in a peaceful way with all in sundry. And then… suddenly… somebody or something comes hurtling in to completely upset your beautifully arranged apple cart. Right there in front of you is a situation, a person or a group of people who it is almost impossible to feel connected with, let alone feel one with. “Well, yes… I feel that we’re all connected, but not with that person or that group! “

So…  what do you actually believe?  Are you in integrity when you make the blanket statement that we are all connected… all one?  Chances are… this troublesome person or situation has appeared at exactly the right time to show you your incongruity, and… unless you’re enlightened, it’s possible that you experience this somewhere in your life!  If it feels a little uncomfortable to read this, then Saturn is doing his thing, impeccably!

Carolyn Myss suggests that when we behave in a way that is contrary to a higher truth that is functioning within our souls, we create a storm in our energy field.

In that moment, we are at war with ourselves.

She suggests that we develop soul stamina through acting congruently with our beliefs, one small step at a time, day by day.

  1. Investigate what you really believe to be true for you … now… today… it may have changed!
  2. Keep a watchful, but compassionate eye on your own actions and words.
  3. When you find yourself thinking, speaking or behaving in a way that is contrary to what you say you believe to be true, gently hold yourself accountable (Saturn) and reassess what you’re about to say or do.
  4. Do this over and over again to build the muscle
  5. If you can’t change your behavior, go back and honestly reassess the belief.
  6. By doing this consciously, situation by situation, we build congruency, integrity, maturity and what Myss calls Soul Stamina.

YOUR ASTROLOGY CHART – SATURN AND SOUL STAMINA

Whatever Saturn in Capricorn is travelling in your birth chart will be the main area where soul stamina needs to be built over the next 2 years Let me know if you would like to book a session to explore this.

CELEBRATING SPRING WORKSHOP 29th SEPTEMBER

I still have some space on my next workshop in Gillits KZN. On this one day workshop we will explore what, in our lives, is ready to come into being and how we can put practical steps into place to bring it into the world!  We will explore this artistically by creating an intuitive painting, using spring as our theme.

Solar Eclipse/ New Moon 15th February

spiral fb eclipseCHANGE YOUR PERSPECTIVE

Hi everybody

We’re preparing for the partial Solar Eclipse on 15th February (New Moon in Aquarius), following the Lunar Eclipse on 31st January.

The period between the two is often referred to as an eclipse gateway.   Due to eclipses always representing points of growth, awakening and change – this can be a very powerful time, albeit not always entirely comfortable.

At a partial Solar Eclipse, the Moon is positioned in between the Earth and the Sun, partially blocking out it’s light.

We experience the effect of Eclipses for at least six months and as discussed in my last video, this pair  link back to February and August 2017, as well as further back to 19/20 years ago (1998/1999).

This does NOT mean that the same things are going to happen again, but if you look back, its very likely that you’ll find some common threads and themes, particularly if points are being triggered in your personal birth chart. It’s likely to particularly apparent if you have your Sun, Moon, Ascendant or other personal planets that fall in Aquarius or Leo.

When we’re in between a Lunar and a Solar Eclipse, as we are now, it means that we are in a waning moon cycle, which is a time of letting go of the old, so as to make space for the new.

During this eclipse gateway and on the day of the eclipse, it can seem as though everything that is buried deep down inside us is being pulled up to the surface. We might feel anywhere between a bit lethargic or lazy, to flat out depressed and confused. It’s often a time of endings and is always an excellent time to detox and clear out the clutter!

These particular eclipse pairs are encouraging us to look at our lives from a higher perspective and potentially make some rather massive paradigm shifts.

The Aquarius / Leo axis is concerned with how we give and receive love (including love for ourselves);  whether we’re on course and are shining our light into the world the way we would like to; whether we are acting or reacting from our small selves (ego) or  from our big selves and how our actions and reactions are contributing to the collective.

Whenever there is a lot of energy in Aquarius, which there is at the moment, we tend to get shaken out of any ruts that we might be in.

When the same old knee jerk reactions, hurts, fears and insecurities come up over and over again, it can often feel as if we’re just going around in never ending circles.

Even though it seems that way, nature (and astrology 😊) continually show us that this just  isn’t the case!.

In my workshops this month, we’re working with the symbol of the Spiral, which appears EVERYwhere in nature, showing us that there is an incredible, awe-inspiring Divine order and symmetry, which we often  can’t rationally comprehend.

I find it more  helpful to see our cycles as spirals, rather than  endless circles. This way, whenever it seems that we’re  experiencing the same old thing, we can consciously make the choice of seeing it and responding to it  in a different way.

Compare yourself now, to yourself 19 or 20 years ago. With a great deal of gentleness and compassion, notice your patterns, where you seem to say or do the same things over and over again, or where the same situations seem to be repeating  themselves.

As soon as you feel yourself in what feels like familiar similar situation, or find yourself about to react in the same way, about to utter the same words, take a moment. Breathe. Centre yourself. Get some distance. Breathe more.  And then make the choice to  consciously respond differently.

If somebody is pushing your buttons – that taxi driver, that colleague, friend,  family member – that person who always seems to say or do just the thing that makes you want to run and hide or scream or shut down or cry … ask what they are showing you, about you. Perhaps they could be enacting your shadow side – the part of you that you disown out of hand? You might not be able to change them, but they could be teaching you something valuable.

Aquarius asks that we BE the change that we want to see in the world and big change starts with small change. For the next month, why not change it up.  Instead of sitting in the same place, sit somewhere else, use a different tea mug, drive a different way to work, move your furniture around, introduce one new thing into your life and stick with it for 21 days. Find new thoughts and affirmations to replace old self-sabotaging ones.

There’s a strong Neptunian flavour to this eclipse passage too, with Venus moving into Pisces on the 11th February and Neptune (the ruler of Pisces)  squaring Mars.  One one hand, this can bring confusion, slipperiness, lethargy,  or delusion  AND/OR  it can be beautifully creative and romantic and can  lead to deep insights and healing.

HOW IS THE ECLIPSE SEASON PLAYING OUT IN YOUR CHART?

Consider booking a reading with me to explore where and how this eclipse season is playing out in your chart and how you can best work with it’s energy.  In July/August we will have the last two eclipses on this axis (for the next 19 years), so there’s still time to bring understanding and integration to what they are trying to show us.

ART & SOUL WORKSHOPS

I still have some space on my SPIRAL OF LIFE workshop on Saturday 17th February, as well as two places on the EBB AND FLOW RETREAT in Grotto bay from 1st to 4th March.

In my March Durban  workshops – Wednesday Mornings and Saturday 17th  March (new Moon)  we will also  be working with the Ebb and Flow theme as the Sun makes its way through Pisces. Please email me for more details.

Lifelight Astrology July 2016

heart wave

July gets off to a swimming start with a new moon in watery Cancer on 4th July, accompanied by Venus and Mercury, all forming a beautiful flowing aspect to Neptune in Pisces… fluid, imaginative, gentle, connected to all that is!  But… but there’s more…. Pluto, King of the Underworld is opposing this bunch too, adding some drama , depth and intensity to the picture.

So… grab your snorkel and get ready for some deep sea diving in the month ahead, punctuated by some blissful, creative, in-the-moment inspired drifting. In astrology, water represents emotions, feelings, gut instincts and intuition. Cancer is the sign of mothering, nurturing, family and home. More importantly, the sign of the crab is about SECURITY.

Neptune in Pisces is gently coaxing us to find our security and stability from a deeper, more eternal source… to acknowledge the connection, magic and mystery that exists amongst all things and to trust it !

Imagine drifting along on your back in a turquoise sea… gentle  sun on your face, soft nourishing water caressing your body… not a care in the world. You feel safe, held, nurtured, comfortable and connected to all that is… Bliss!

And then…. cue music…. The sky darkens a little, as a cloud passes over the sun and the air grows suddenly chilly. Before you know it, something grabs you by the ankle and pulls you under the water. This would be Pluto, who’s been cruising around like a sea monster, looking for some company, wanting to take you on a deeper exploration of your psyche.

For a few moments you’re completely disorientated, possibly fearing that you might never re-surface. After kicking and screaming and struggling with all your might, you realise that it’s not doing any good and that you might indeed drown if you continue. So, you decide to surrender and allow him to lead you into the nooks and crannies of your unconscious, coming up for a breath of  air every now and then. Even though the water has changed, it’s still the same ocean and you’re still being held.

Pluto in Capricorn represents the security we get from external sources – our jobs, homes, status, as well as those big, hefty, governmental structures, bosses, authority figures,  institutions and banking systems. With all that’s been going on globally, it’s pretty clear that things are changing on our planet and will never be the same again. That which we have always depended on to provide us with our security is in a constant state of flux and change, whether we like it or not.

Many of us are  asking…What will become of us?  What if we can’t earn the money we need to earn to support ourselves and our families? What if we can’t keep ourselves safe?  Or, for the very rich – what if we lose the wealth we’ve built?  I don’t think there’s anyone who isn’t feeling this on some level.

This month we’re being asked to really look at where we find our sense of security and stability from in this constantly changing world.

What is it that constitutes security for you? Is it your money, your job,  business, love partner, family,  group of friends,  home?

Here’s it comes – the Sea monster ….Grab that snorkel…

What if every single thing that you’ve always though provides you with security were to leave your life or change completely… what then?

Who would you be, without  the things you own, without the people who love you, without your job, your title, your home?

Who or what is it that lies beyond or beneath all of that?

Difficult questions, I know, but each of us needs to find those answers for ourselves. Neptune is at hand to encourage us to find the stability we search for within ourselves and through our eternal connection to Source. We’re encouraged to tune in, listen to our dreams and notice the signs that guide us to the centre of the storm and they are surely there, if we pay attention!

With all this Cancerian energy, I see this as a very good time to work with those needy little children that reside within each one of us and to re-parent ourselves on every level. We need to be very present and attentive to the fears and old conditioned beliefs that arise this month, as if we were dealing with frightened children…. Because we are?

If your children or nieces and nephews came to you and said,  “I’m really scared”, what would you say to them?  How would you nurture them? How would you support them?

Whatever you would say to them or do for them, do the same for yourself.

During July and August I’ll be facilitating four workshops to connect with, nourish and celebrate our inner children. In July we will meet and re-envision our 0 – 7 selves and in August our 7 to 18 selves. This is probably the most important work we can do on this journey of the Soul, so come and play for the day!  See here or email me for details

Above all this month, allow the water this month to cleanse, soften and nourish you.

Take time to really connect with what nurtures you and makes you feel safe. It could be going into meditation, painting a picture, getting together with your special tribe and having a beautiful comforting meal, or perhaps running a hot bath, lying on the ground, allowing Mother Earth to hold you, or sitting quietly with a cup of tea and just connecting with the bigger you… the eternal you, the soulful you… the you that will be here  long after Brexit and Trump and Malema and all the stuff of the world as we know it.

Lifelight Astrology New Moon 13th October

new moon libra

On Tuesday 13th October, we have the start of a brand spanking new lunar cycle with a New Moon in Libra – which sets the scene for the next two weeks. When we think Libra, we think relationship, co-operation, peace, love, beauty and harmony… “Imagine” by John Lennon says it best, being a Libran himself.

But …here’s the rub… this usually lovely sun/moon peace party is being directly opposed by radical, revolutionary, Uranus, who is residing in fiery, impulsive Aries. You might say it’s just a tad more complex and contradictory than normal. You may be feeling a  little on the edgy side,  irritated, angry or perhaps  a bit stuck or sick and tired of playing it safe and trying to please everybody?

Lets have some fun and see if we can get to know the archetypal characters in this scene (which are mirrored in each of us)  a bit better, so we can work out what to do with them.

Imagine if you will, a wrestling ring – Enter on the left, to the swell of orchestral music, the gorgeous, the honed, the immaculately turned out… Mr Libra – let’s call him Fancy Pants Phillipe … charming, graceful, smooth of skin, silken cape swirling around perfectly tailored shorts. More than happy to be in the limelight, he glides around the ring, waving and flashing his Hollywood smile for all to see.  After all, you’ve paid for your ticket and he aims to please.

And then…Suddenly… the music shifts, there’s a rumble and a roar and a flash of lightening, as a blur of  black and red silk explodes like a whirling dervish into the ring. Seemingly out of thin air, appears the Great, the mighty …Rebel the Ram, muscles pumped for action, presence looming, teeth bared, pure primal energy shooting from every pore, his body glistening with the sweat of unadulterated excitement and unbridled energy. Not a second is wasted as Rebel the Ram virtually flies across the ring and pounces on  Fancy Pants, who doesn’t even see it coming,  absorbed as he is in doing the pleaser strut.  Pandemonium breaks out – I mean the match hasn’t event started yet. The refs manage to restrain the Rebel and he laughingly prances away, waving a dismissive hand at Fancy Pants, who is now lying in a daze on the floor, a little bloodied and very embarrassed indeed. The Ram moves swiftly  around the ring, arms in the air, brimming with the unabashed  confidence of a winner.  His speciality is the rattling of cages and he has successfully unbalanced and psyched his opponent out. Had Fancy pants not been so obsessed with pleasing everybody, he may have seen it coming.

Uranus is the rebel, the awakener and he’s just doing his job, bringing us out of any slumber we might be in.

This new moon, as much as we want the beauty, balance, peace thing, we are being hoofed out of our comfort zones by unexpected and possibly surprising events or people. If you’ve been stuck in a rut, this lunation should be just the medicine you need, to bounce you out of it! Uranus is ready to leap into the ring of our lives and show us exactly where we’re being inauthentic or where our lives are out of balance.

Libra generally has little or no interest in rocking the boat, whereas  Uranus in Aries says “burn the boat down if needs be”. Libra wants to co-operate, avoid confrontation and keep the peace at all costs, where Uranus demands that we be honest,  assert ourselves, stand up for what’s right, change the way we do things and even maybe take a risk or two.

Obviously with the main theme still being balance, we’re being urged to find the middle ground, regardless of which side of the pendulum we happen to be hanging out on.

Here are some questions to ask this new moon:

  • Where in my life, do I feel stuck?
  • Where am I telling the same story and how can I change it?
  • What part of my life needs the Rebel Ram treatment and what form could that take?.
  • What can I do that is out of the norm and would get me out of the rut?
  • Where in my life am I putting on a pleasing face and over co-operating, possibly to my detriment – a good clue here is to ask yourself what or who you resent and why.
  • Or – where am I being blustery, imposing, tactless, confrontational and self obsessed?
  • Am I pushing too hard or are taking the path of least resistance?
  • Am I going to war with people, when peace would be the better option?.
  • What are my judgements about others?  They are what I need to address in myself.

Mercury has thankfully just turned direct and joined the Libran party, so he’s there to help us to find the balance within ourselves and in our communications with others.

Be the change you want to see”. Ghandi

Lifelight Astrology 13th August – New Moon, Jupiter into Virgo

Moon bag

The big news this week is that Jupiter, the giant planet of expansion, higher learning and opportunity, has completed his  year long journey through fabulous, fiery Leo.  During his time there, many of us have become really excited about new, creative ideas, which we have or haven’t given birth to yet, started (and perhaps not completed) a myriad of projects,  fallen in (and maybe out of love, made (and spent) some money and sent plenty of big-hearted intentions out into the universe.

And now as this huge planet shifts into Virgo, we add a more pragmatic, practical, routined, health-oriented lense to the aspect of growth in our lives.  As you can imagine, big expansive Jupiter, who is associated with the Greek God Zeus, isn’t too crazy about having his wings clipped in the puritanical sign of the Virgin, but if we understand and integrate the energy, the shift can be very helpful indeed.

Think back to September 2003 to September 2004, which was the last time Jupiter journeyed through Virgo. There’s likely to be a thread to, or a similar theme happening in your life now. If you have a copy of your chart, and you know a bit about Astrology, find the house where 1 degree Virgo resides. This will be the area in your life where you need to show real commitment, in order to grow into your next level of your evolution.

This shift has happened while the sun is still in Leo, where he is joined by the moon and Venus on Friday (New moon). With all the retrograde planets around, we’re being given another invitation to reassess our heart-felt ideas and intentions and to re-ignite our flames. At the end of June, (see my blog below for a refresher) Jupiter and Venus danced together in Leo and we connected with our wildest imaginings. Now, many of us have felt that  flame start to flicker, as daily life has once again got in the way of our heartiest intentions.

This new moon, we are being asked to add pragmatism and commitment to the mix, as we start to separate the wheat from the chaff, clear the clutter and make order out of some of the chaos in our lives. (It’s a really good new moon for a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual purge or detox)

Ask yourself again … What do I really, really want in my life? If  I had to do one thing before I died, what would it be? If I had a year left to live, what would I be doing  more of? What is my unique heart song? How can I embrace it and share it?  Am I taking the time necessary to tend my unique flame?

…And if are finding that there isn’t enough time to stoke the fire in your heart, then ask what you can cut and trim from your life, to make more space. Maybe it’s time for some of your old dreams and wishes to be re-visited, in order to establish whether they’re still relevant and worthy of your energy, or for those some extraneous tasks or commitments to be cleared away, to make room for the new.

If you’ve had a creative idea bubbling inside you for a while, this is the week to write it down and schedule time to commit to it on a regular basis – daily if possible. If your intention is to get fit or to lose weight, or get more supple, then this is the week to start and commit to that new eating or exercise plan. If you feel that you’re a bit stale creatively, or are in dire need of fun, then get serious about having some fun – this week actually schedule fun into your calendar.

This quote was very timeously sent to me by my friend and amazing Life Coach,  Liz Witherspoon the other day – thanks Liz.  It says it all.

“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth; the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favour all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way.

Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now.” William Goethe

Lifelight Astrology March 2015

yin yang fire water By Michelle McClunan

It’s the final countdown beautiful people … not only of our astrological year, but also to the Grand Finale Uranus Pluto Square, for the 6th and final time since June 2012

I’ve written a lot about this over the last few years, but here’s an ABF quick re-cap of this paradigm-shifting transit, that’s been pushing and pummelling us for so long – lest we may have missed it’s message!

Uranus in Aries (revolutionary energy that demands brand-new change) cracks open and reveals the old stuff that has been swept under the proverbial carpet (Pluto) – in a nutshell, whatever we’ve been numbing out, running away from or just flat-out denying, is very likely to come drifting up to the surface… again! This goes further than ourselves of course, to include the governments, the banks, the climate, the state of Mother Earth – the whole caboodle.  No doubt about it, things are coming out into the open and something is shifting on our little blue planet.

A good clue as to how the energy may be playing out in your own life is to become very aware of how your body reacts, when an outer challenge hits you like a Thunder God. You know the feeling… there you are, happy as a sand-boy,  when out of the blue, there’s that  sms, that email or somebody says or does  just the thing, that in an instant has the ability to reduce you to a quivering lump of jelly or a raging inferno.  Sneaky little pain bodies, hanging out in the basement of our unconscious, waiting for Uranus in Aries to come and break em out!

Every time that happens, right there, the Universe is presenting us with yet another opportunity to  notice, inquire about, surrender and clear… all the while being the ever-loving, ever-patient parent to ourselves.

If you have your Natal chart and understand a bit about houses, the house that contains 15 Degrees Capricorn represents old fears, beliefs and baggage that  could do with a little more clearing. The house that  contains 15 Degrees Aries, is where you are being pushed to assert yourself and move forward. If you haven’t had a reading for a while, now would be a good time.

For further clarification  of whats coming up for you– if you keep a journal, (or  just have a really good memory) think back to the previous dates that the square was exact and see if you can find a pattern.  June/July 2012; September/October  2012;  May/June 2013,  October/ November, 2013 , April  2014;  November/December  2014.

New moon on the 20th March is a total solar eclipse, that falls at the very last degree of Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac, This is a very powerful time to dump whatever we no longer need, so that we’re clear and free to start the new Astrological year, when the sun enters Aries the next day.

Along with the Sun in Pisces, we also have a batch of personal planets in Aries for most of the month. There are no two signs that are less alike than the Fish and the Ram.

Focused Fiery Aries is a Yang sign – masculine, driven, in control. When the Warrior is in balance, we are able to initiate, pioneer and send our beautiful courageous energy out into the world, for all to see. When he’s out of balance, the energy is a little like a run away fire, burning everything that stands in the way of achieving what he wants – hot-headed, tantrum-throwing, aggressive and self absorbed are some words to describe an Aries/ fire imbalance.

And then there’s dreamy, watery, seductive Pisces, a Yin sign – feminine, receptive, imaginative and connected. When she’s in balance, we are able to be more creative, more compassionate, surrender more, let go of what we don’t need,  and connect with the Divine more deeply. When she’s a raging torrent however, we become overwhelmed, delusional and escapist, often reaching for the nearest thing that will numb the pain and take us into another zone.

So how do we deal with these polarities?  The Autumn Equinox on the 21st  March gives us a clue. The equinox signifies the balance point in our year, where day and night are equal in length. It symbolises the union between Yin and Yang; the inner world and the Outer world; Water and fire; Sun and Moon, Feminine and Masculine; the unseen and the seen; logical and intuitive, conscious and unconscious.

What we’re being called upon to do right now is to really integrate and balance  the male (yang)  and the female (yin) within ourselves.

Whenever we can bring ourselves into our heart centre, (which is the unity point between masculine and feminine), we move into  neutrality, into a state “beingness” rather than “doingness” and it’s there we find peace and unity.

We will be working with this through the powerful ancient symbol of the Yin Yang, in my March Workshops and Wednesday classes this month– see below  for details or if you’ve accessed this via my blog, click here

If you feel yourself being triggered or spinning out this month, try this:

  • Stop
  • Breathe (for longer on the out- breath than the in-breath)
  • Drop and soften your shoulders, put them back a bit to open your heart
  • Gently imagine gathering your energy into a core centre line running from above your head to beneath your feet, spreading out like roots into the earth.
  • Soften the area around your heart
  • Keep doing that for a minute or two and check in again with your body

Try it now. …Seriously, you can do this at any time during the day – while driving, standing in a queue, dealing with a tricky customer – it takes seconds and you do not have to be sitting in the lotus position meditating. I practiced it whilst sitting in a queue at SARS yesterday (not my best place in the world)  and I have to tell you, it really helped!

If you have a little more time, you might want to do the “Living in the Heart” meditation by Drunvalo Melchizadek. It’s perfect for this month

Blessings everybody

Lifelight Astrology – Summer Solstice & New Moon – 21/22 December 2014

wish dandelion

As the Christmas and New Year festivities  approach, I thought I would give you a heads-up on what’s happening this week in the stars … and the planets. The big news is that in the Southern Hemisphere, it’s the Summer Solstice on 21st December at 23:03, followed closely by a brand New Moon at  3:35am on the 22nd .

The Solstice is always significant and powerful and when accompanied by a new moon, even more so. This one happens at 0 degrees Capricorn, known in Astrology as the Cardinal point or the Alpha point, indicating strong beginnings. This is the time to  release the old and usher in the new – before we get carried away with New Year festivities.

Take some time on Sunday before 23:02 to reflect on the last 12 months.  Think back on what you can remember about each month and how this year has shaped you, grown you and expanded you. What have the challenges been and have they helped you in any way to reach another level of understanding or self acceptance?  What have you achieved and what have you not? Who has entered your life and who has left – and what have you learnt from that? Take time to recognise the wins,  losses,  challenges and  victories, acknowledging every single thing as being integral to your journey. See my last blog for more on this subject.

A lovely ritual you can do at the solstice, is to write down anything you want to release from the year and surrender it into a candle flame or a bonfire. Remember that fire transmutes and transforms, changes what was, into something else, so the process of burning is really  powerful.

On the  the next day ( 22nd preferably – after 3:35 am), allow yourself the freedom to dream.  Write your hopes and wishes for the next year onto another piece of paper. Light it and watch as the paper transforms to smoke, carrying your intentions out into the Universe.

I’ll be running two Vision board workshops in January to get those intentions working even more. Vision boards really work folks. See below for details or if you don’t receive my newsletter, email me on michellemcclunan@gmail.com

This morning this video popped into my inbox and apart from bringing tears to my eyes, it really did make me feel astoundingly grateful for all I have. Our journey on this little spinning planet really is about gratitude and attitude.  How best can you use this one precious life, if you had to put your perceived limitations aside?. What do you yearn for? What is it that really blows your hair back and if you’re not doing it in some way, why not?  The chap in this video proves that ANYthing is possible if we set our minds to it and it all starts with loving and accepting ourselves – exactly as we are

May you all have a stunning Solstice, a blessed Christmas and Fantastic New Year !

Love

Michelle
